It wouldn't be the first time LSU T&F does amazing things. That program has an excelent history.

I know it’s difficult, but hopefully both men and women can win outdoor. It’s been a minute.

They made some changes two years ago with both training and assistant coaches. The training , nutrition and rest is all data driven now and unique to each athlete. They don’t train all runners the same. They don’t train all filed athletes the same anymore. It’s extremely interesting when you learn a little about it and directly correlates to performance. Lost in the “World # 1” rankings by the sprinters , is the fact that the distance runners have broken several LSU records this year. For years that group has been looked over and now we have athletes that will win or place top three in the SEC in various distance events.

You sure about that? Currently, there are zero LSU men and one LSU woman ranked in the top 10 in the SEC for events 800m and above; it would be pretty shocking if they finished top 3 in even one event, let alone "various" events. Bove's indoor campaign was nice, but he's been trash outdoors.

Men should be a lock for ncaa team champ I’d say as just those 3 athletes will be close to winning, minimally, in 4 individual events(LJ, HJ, 200, 400) + corresponding relays(4x400 n 4x100) + I’d assume a few more All American performance points

Damn Rangel’s 2:04 in the 800m isn’t in the top 10 in the sec? That’s a hell of a field if not

Her 800 is currently the only LSU mid-D/distance performance in the top 10 of the SEC. It's 9th.

I mean I’m not saying LSU can’t do better. I’m also saying that’s an insanely competitive field. I know LSU has had some sec champs in the 800 with that time

Hoping the light comes in for Katy Ann McDonald. Was hoping she’d be putting up better numbers to this point

That is not true at all. They haven't won national championships like they did under Henry, but "fell off a cliff" is way off. Both teams are usually in the top 10 by season's end.

To be more specific the men have probably had 15 top four finishes in indoor and outdoor combined since shaver took over. The women won a natty and got it vacated for the one girl juicing. But you’re right the men and women have been very competitive considering we don’t have top facilities
