Louisville had far worse shite going on there, and all they lost was their natty and a few years worth of wins. No scholly's lost, no probation, no tournament bans.
I believe if LSU gets hit here, you will just lose this season. And if they don't win the tourney or make it to the final four, what's really lost? The real loss here is if LSU loses Will Wade. Even though he is the reason LSU is in this mess, he's a good coach, who simply got caught. Wrong place, wrong time type of situation.

People keep conflating this FBI investigation with the NCAA - they are not related. The Wade Wire Taps have much more in common with the Secret Service investigation of the OLOL Foundation $$ than anything with NCAA.

Even if guilty, does Will Wade have to be fired? Can LSU just punish him with an unpaid suspension or such and accept the NCAA probation.

If he paid players he should be fired and thrown out of coaching. Alleva needs to be fire as well as the Mr. King who makes $700000 plus. Clean out the bunch it it is true.

I mean it’s not a defense or excuse as much as it is a choice. As a fan, would you rather use illegal recruiting tactics and have a fun competitive program, but risk getting caught? Or would you rather be squeaky clean like under Trent Johnson and field a team of barely division 1 athletes and average 10 wins a year?
If your answer is the Trent Johnson route then more power to you. But I’m taking Door 1 every time

If an employee doesn't come into a meeting that concerns serious matters and affects the University in so many ways, they had no choice but to suspend him.
I don't know with all this attention if LSU could ignore this. How much more info is available now than before publicly? The quotes on the tapes sound really bad.
So why wouldn't WW's lawyer want him to go to the meeting?
What are they hiding?
If somehting is crooked, he doesn't want to give them a reason to fire him.
He doesn't want to say something that could incriminate him in the event the the BoD and AD get questioned about convos with WW.
So I can't blame LSU for suspending him. I wish these things would be played out and investigated before suspending somebody, but this happens in many different lines of work. People are suspended during the investigation. This is no different. It just sux that it is our team and a team that is having so much success.

Give Miles a huge buyout, then actively sabotage him with fricking clauses in assistant contracts, leak out you are firing him with 3 games left, then say you are keeping him to just fire him 4 games into next season because you are afraid he might win a bunch of games because of how easy the schedule was.
