Oh yeah? So you don’t think they will close the ones that aren’t costing the most?
WBB, Gymnastics and W T&F are the only 2 that MAY survive the economics game despite being super drains on the university.
LSU brought in ~200MM last year and LOST money.

WBB lost 7MM alone despite willing a TITLE.

Get your facts before spouting off the sport you like and listen to others talk about the threat.

Nobody cares, except maybe parents and player wives and girlfriends.

If you’re looking at top tier to replace Beth, who would leave the places they’ve had success and built? I don’t think women’s softball has a lot of turnover. If Beth was missing the tournament I could see a change.

If Beth couldn't get to OKC with this team then it may not be in the cards for years to come. I realize losing Danica Coffey was a major blow but the talent was there to win regardless.

This program appears to be content with upper-middle status.

This year for LSU is the best you are going to get. It was a team that COULD have made a run...competitive against the top 10.

Kinda why I posted “not for long” and had a whole thread about the anti-trust case, but do enlighten me.

Softball is a game dominated by one player.

Ou won a bunch of championships in a row because they had a pitcher who pitches every game and nobody can hit.

If you have that player, you win. If you don't, it is really hard to overcome

I feel baseball works because even though the pitcher is just as important as in softball ball, you can't win it all with just one guy. But because softball doesn't kill your shoulder they can pitch pretty much forever.

I don't think you understand. LSU doesn't have the option to shut down or reduce spending on those programs.

Sure they do, they will end up shutting down and reduce spending on lesser sports just like everyone else will.
