For those who don't want to read the details: LSU returned 2 linemen with multiple starts and just 3 with any starts at all. All three got hurt, so we're playing underclassmen and JUCOs. Building an offensive line from scratch takes time
Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day ...and neither will LSU’s offensive line
quote:
Those two experienced players who should have formed the rock of this line? Charles has played in six games and Brumfield in five due to injuries. The left side of the line, supposed to be the team strength with virtually all of the returning starts (22 of 23), instead became a turnstile.
quote:
Four different players have started at left tackle while four different players have started at left guard. The only other veteran lineman is junior Adrian Magee. He’s managed four starts at three different positions despite suffering a knee injury in the season opener. Only three linemen on the team boasted a start prior to this season, and all three went down with injury.
quote:
He’s keeping the redshirt on the potential studs of Rosenthal and Wire, and he’s letting guys build experience. It may not pay off this year, but it probably will next year. After going into this season with virtually no experience on the line, next year’s unit, if it does not suffer any early departures for the NFL, will return between 65-70 starts of the possible 75. LSU will return eight different linemen who started a game this season. That’s even before we get into the redshirts and the impressive class the staff looks to bring in this spring.

Recruiting of Olinemen needs to improve, use DA’s connections if necessary

0 points last 2 games at home, 12 yards rushing this game... What's the excuse for no d line depth and none committed atm? Best dline coach out there and one of the better recruiters supposedly yet his dline has been extremely underwhelming the whole time he has been here... What's your excuse for that one?

Tiger Ree in damage control mode. Chapter 1 Paragraph 1 Section A of The Binder.

That's the problem with that 1990s playbook, doesn't have very many options

That's great. We still need a new OC.

The most important recruit for LSU at this point, imo.Need to get him some friends now

I mean I get it but every year it's always:
___ are inexperienced and will improved next year.
Insert OL, DL, LB, DBs, QB, WR etc.
At some point you have to have a system that you can plug your freshman or sophmore kids into and have it functional.

Looked like a BUNCH of FACTS to me. Even the rating #'s for sacks and stuff rate.
Which fact do you want to dispute? Do you think there were multiple stats given that are incorrect? Are there multiple discrepancies in what he is saying about the players - injuries, positions, starts, redshirts, etc?
Love to hear your take on it instead of just a VERY LONG two word bullshite post.

Let’s just build the frickin Oline to elite status, shall we?

What's your excuse on the dline? Haven't heard you comment on that, supposed to be his 2 strengths, and we are extremely thin and 0 recruits

Sounds like something a competent coaching staff would have noticed during the bye week.
How did E game plan to work around these deficiencies?

Wasn't one of your guys big selling points before the season that we finally had a quality offensive line with depth? I believe the phrase used was "Coach finally shored up both lines."
