Don't you think he would entertain a conversation with LSU to be the DC with a "waiting in the wings" for HC bullet point? What's wrong with that? All LSU can do is say no?

Tbh his defenses at Zona were outside the top 15 each year. I hope he's as good as y'all think.

Give him $1.7M and a 4 year deal to piss Chavis off.

Those Kurt Warner era Cardinals defenses were not terribly talented.

Found a pretty insightful interview with Clancy from last year.

From another poster. These are some Mallory-Peveto type numbers. Y'all sure this is the guy you're ready to anoint?

quote:

Looking at game results and he seems to have a few duds every year

2010:
52 points to Nevada
48 points to USC
48 points to Stanford

2011:
43 points to Oregon

2012:
49 points to Utah
59 points to Oregon
62 points to Oregon State

2013:
62 points to Arizona State

Chavis never allowed more than 44 points at LSU and opponents reached 40 points only twice.

I am happy to see this , it means that the school is looking national for a replacement and starting with a top candidate.

Cal doesn't get the defensive recruits necessary to run a shut down defense.

And he inherited a shitshow in USC that he had running pretty smoothly by the year's end.

wasn't the 62 point ASU game the one that got Kiffin fired?

Defense wins championships. Those types of defenses don't give up 60 points in a game.

I know everyone wants a quick home run hire, but Pendergast is not the guy.

It's not like he ever had our kind of talent in those games. Plus we don't play all those kind of offenses

Then who is? Show me a legit candidate that does not have a few bad games in his career? Those games were with Cal and a probation depleted USC. They were still top-defenses.

Hell Saban defenses haven given up 40+ points how many times in the last 4 years?

He coached at USC with Kiffin and Orgeron - if he didn't have talent there, nobody did.
