Does anyone remember when ESPN walked in during a D coaching meeting before the Bama game a few years ago. Chavis wouldn't speak.

Pendergast also believes it's vital to get pressure on the opposing QB. "Whether it's a running quarterback or a passing quarterback, you always try to get them off their spot and give them different looks," he said. "You don't want to be vanilla."
I'm hard.

See the timeframe. NCAA probation is a bitch.

Pendergast was under scholarship limitations for much of his regime @ USC.

Yeah but he doesn't get his guys in the system. He's being thrown the coaches LSU already has hired. He might not like that and he doesn't even have a LB coach. I mean, Peveto could help there but that guy shits anything up he coaches.

He is still a possibility, but Miles would like someone with experience recruiting in the SEC.
I don't believe that. It would be stupid to leave a guy with Pendergast's qualifications out of this job for such a trivial reason. And by saying trivial, mean that I'm sure that he could adjust to SEC recruiting rather quickly.

Off topic but over/under this thread gets to 200?

In fairness, he was at Cal for 2010-2012. So it isn't like he had LSU-level talent.
Also, 2013, USC probation

Looks like he would be hiring his own DL and LB coaches by the looks of it. And his specialty is DBs, so I'm sure he could work with Raymond to get the results he wants.

Our biggest competition for Pendergast may be the Redskins. Has there been any talk about him connected to them or any other NFL opportunities?

I don't either. Hell, apparently Chavis didn't personally recruit for shite anyway.

Wilson and Orgeron would wreck shite.

This is a good point. You'd have to give him the leeway to make what changes he wants to make. But this late in the coaching carousel, he'd probably be pragmatic enough not to make (m)any changes in the defensive staff for the upcoming season.
And he could feel it's a great situation to walk into a job with mostly solid assistants in place.

Would only have 1 coaching space available if he's hired. Something gets sacrificed. My guess is LB because BDP can coach LBs.

What part of "He is still a possibility" didn't you comprehend? You are the typical RANTER, probably have never heard of this guy before today, yet know for sure within 10 minutes of seeing his name on the internet that he's a home run hire.

Orgeron is not coming as D-line coach
