women's basketball, softball, soccer, men's and women's swimming and diving, gynmastics...etc. all goes to paying for scholarships, away trips, clothing, staff payroll. etc.. it adds up, you have to remember, everybody flys just about everywhere unless it is shorter to take a bus.

WTF is that?
USA Today listed the top spending football schools and U. Texas was No. 1.

Education is worth 50 cents in late fees from the local library.

Don't we give about 6 mil back to LSU? I thought I read that we are one of only a handful of schools that actually has to give money back to the school.

All that money probably goes to phat cat administrators who sit around in luxurious offices laughin all the way to the bank. The states should be outraged their money is being thrown around for the benefit of a few.

What's amazing is that Boise State ($6.85 million) spends only slightly more than Troy ($5 million).

The list only includes bowl teams. Texas has a $25 million budget.

Those two scenarios aren't mutually exclusive. In fact, they have nothing to do with one another except for the fact that athletics actually produces revenue for education.

LSU is one of just a few (Texas and Florida might be the others) that don't put any money into their athletic programs. The athletic program at LSU is self sufficient and uses no state funding. we are lucky
