Looks pretty good, but I would flip Ole Piss and Georgia. I think Alabama and Ole Piss are generally overrated.

Washinton barely in the top 100. And it says their QB is the best in the PAC 10, WTF.

The funny thing is, both those statements are correct.

Masoli is the best QB in the pac10.

As a retired coach, pre-season doesn't mean a thing. Who gives a big rats arse. It's the very last ranking (after the bowls) that really matters.

Ole Miss doesn't have the talent or depth to be anywhere close to 5.

He definitley plays on the better team, but Locker is the better QB.

Ole Miss is about to get a lesson in the statistical concept of “regression to the mean”. I can understand a national rank, but #5? Really? For a team that lost four games? One year removed from failing to win a single conference game? I’m not buying.

Not only that, but they lost 2 1st rounders off that 4-loss team. I can understand the media overrating them--that's what they do. What I can't believe is some of our own fans are drinking the kool-aid. Sure Ole Miss could beat us and win the West. It's an SEC game, and more importantly, it's on the road. But to predict it, and even expect it? frick that.

over/under on Ole Miss's final ranking after the bowls in JAN. I am setting the bar at 22nd...

Bama claims a national championship in a year they finished at #22 in the AP.

Why is Ole Miss preseason ranked so high? There schedule is pretty light but do they have that much coming back and do they have the depth?

We are thin at OL and the defensive back seven. But have as good a two-deep DL as there is in the conference, and better than average running backs. I think the main reason for the high expectations is that we have a 1st-round quality QB, in a year when almost every other SEC team at QB is either untested, or just plain bad. We'll see.

Generally?

When has ole miss been overrated before this year?

And yes i agree, we are overrated this year. I would put us somewhere between 10 and 15

They finished in the top 10 last year, have a lot of firepower back on offense, and have their tough games at home. It's not that ridiculous

By "generally", I meant generally through the national sportswriters this year, not generally over the years. I agree that they have been accurately ranked in past years.
