LSU professors not showing up to teach or cancelling classes

My son is a freshman at LSU. Since school started, there is a troubling trend of teachers canceling classes, sometimes last minute. They simply post the classwork online for the students to complete. Is this the new way since Covid? What the hell am I paying for here? Moving topic to OT Lounge....

You’re paying for your kid to wake up and see the cancellation email and think “that’s awesome” before rolling over and going back to bed.

Bloated administration and "researchers" staying out of the classroom at all costs.

They’re pissed about the football team’s performance Sunday night and are performing a sickout until Perkins is moved back to his old position.

Trust me your son was never going to class anyways.

Pretty sure my kid has had more online classes than in person classes

sadly, that shite has been going on since the 2000's. You will probably get a better response if you post this in the O-T. They are very transparent when it comes to LSU campus stuff.

Prog filth have all but taken over the teaching ranks at every major university. Their sense of entitlement is astounding. They got a taste of the “remote” vacation work schedule and don’t want to go back… so disappointing what higher education has become.

And super helpful, understanding, compassionate, and forgiving.

I took an upper level statistics course and the teacher had major surgery and was out for over half the semester. I was told to go to the other class (which was the better teacher) but I worked at the time of the other class. The class was never covered by a TA or anything. I had to teach it to myself. That was 2011.

This has been going on for way longer. Some professors do it more than others. I remember one time I got up and made my way over to campus from my apartment, had to do the struggle to find a parking spot, walk to class in the heat, only to see my English prof cancelled at the last minute and I didn't have another class until the afternoon.
It may be a little more frequent now, idk. But it wasn't some unheard of thing pre-covid.

What kind of imbecile moves Perkins to a position where he is nonexistent when he was ALL EVERYTHING last year? Let the dude be a ball hawk.

For four of my engineering classes I had the same professor. He would have office hours between 5:30 AM to 7:00 AM , only.

LSU, a bastion of scholarly education since 1861. What a joke college is these days. Like all of government run education, meaning all education, it is a massive brainwashing operation.
