This was from around 5 years ago.....

BATON ROUGE – Seven businesses have submitted offers to produce marijuana for Louisiana through LSU.

The marijuana growing operation is estimated to cost $10 million and will be paid for by the contractor.

"We're looking for somebody who will be able to provide the quality product for the patients in Louisiana who will be using the medical marijuana product," Dr. Ted Gauthier, LSU professor, told WBRZ News 2

I remember watching many of the LSU Board of Supervisor meetings concerning LSU’s role in growing MJ. They were chomping at the bit to get their paws on some of that action. Yes, I know that’s for medicinal MJ. Yada yada yada....

The fact is LSU has their mitts all over something that compliance keeps KILLING the athletics department for every year. And with damn near every state already either having fully passed or are in various stages of passing recreational MJ, you’d best believe that LSU’s recruiting will get slammed if they already aren’t.

Call it what it is. It’s damn near hypocritical at this point. And for what it’s worth, I don’t do it and can’t even stand the smell of it. However, what I am is not a hypocrite. It’s about time we hear of Woodward going toe to toe with that f@cking disgrace of a compliance department. I truly believe that had LSU not been in all of the shite they’re in right now, he’d have already stomped on a few heads. It’s time LSU evens the playing field to at least have its own compliance department not gunning for them around every corner. And LSU, if you’re going to be bringing in income from it, well......

(If you want to search through the YouTube BS, I’m sure the LSU Board of Supervisors meetings concerning it are somewhere. Be warned, it was hours upon hours of many meetings)

Is there something in the policies that prevents the use of medical marijuana?

It’s just a basic article (a short one) that shows the half ‘Tards that don’t know that LSU actually has their mitts all over marijuana for money. If you knew it, great. If you didn’t, now you know. Although your responses are at least half ‘tard.

So what exactly is the relevance since you’ve pieced this big hypocrisy together?

Please share with the half ‘tards

While the hypocrisy is glaring, I’m more frustrated with how heavily the drug policies are enforced here versus at other schools. Weed is quite pervasive on campus at LSU and elsewhere. If every school in the country suspended a player when they got popped, no one would be able to field a competitive team.

I completely agree, times have changed in regards to this drug BUT the fact is it’s currently illegal and doing something illegal makes it a crime. To turn the other way just isn’t the right thing at this time. Make it legal and then they will HAVE to back off.

It’s not as if they aren’t extremely forgiving as it is? Hell they would probably turn the other way if they would just attempt to pass a test in some way or just stop smoking the weed. It isn’t that difficult to stop doing. Imo daily life is much more real when you don’t do it. Convince these kids of this reality however possible.

The drug makes you lazy, uncompetitive in some cases, procrastinate everything, forget simple things, slow, eat everything and it also affects young peoples temperament as it is still developing at that age. It’s really not good for young people. On the other hand most mature folks with pains and who have living experience can do this without much affect to their daily lives, can easily stop when they decide to do so and know when it’s a good time to do it and when it isn’t.

Right before a drug screen is probably not the best time. Right before a critical test, not the best time. Right before a big game, not the best time. While driving around with your buddies in town, not the best time. Your daily activities are complete, all work for the day is done, you want to relax and have some friends over or a girl over, ok sure do your thing. You just can’t forget that it’s still illegal and you have to know that there is a drug screen soon so stop prior to that test or for gods sake pass it using your brain! It isn’t that hard to do! I wish they wouldn’t test either but you have to have rules and the drug is currently illegal.

You’re right. I’m wasting my time going head-to-head with this intellect….

Keep up the good work.

While I agree its time to legalize it, this is false.

They won't have to back off, they should but won't have too.

In my profession I can promise even if legal I will not be allowed to do it, just as there are rules against alcohol use within companies and organizations.

A fix that isn't needed. College athletes should be able to smoke weed with no consequences

And those alcohol rules are strictly with regard to you not being impaired with it on the job or having criminal issues related to it

Your employer doesn't care if you responsibly partake in alcohol outside of work

frick weed and it is bull shite that you guys keep defending that shite. Take it from someone that did it and other hallucinogenics in the ‘60’s/70’s. Trust me it isn’t worth it. In fact alcohol isn’t worth it.

This post does not make any sense whatsoever.

The fact that LSU makes medical marijuana is no way related to, or contradictory with, punishing students smoking NON-medical marijuana.

One is legal; the other isn't.
