I'll eat crow. Thought LSU would be much lower (8-10).

Here we go again. They’ll regret that pick.

A very fair assessment

Mizzou, Tennessee. Alabama and LSU are all very close

I think Texas, Bama, and Ole Miss are all being overrated a bit. I don't think there is much separation between those 3 teams and LSU.

Looking and hearing all the preseason stuff, I think 5th is fair as well for the time being.

0 reason to have Bama over Ole Miss. DeBust is vastly overrated

I just can not get used to Ole Miss having higher expectations than LSU. I also think Bama is a bit too high, but 3-8 really is a cluster and I have NO idea what to expect from Oklahoma.

These predictions are all based on last year results which means nothing.

I love when LSU vs Ole Miss games are relevant and this one is shaping up to be a wild one. Thank god we get them at home.

Will being 5th get us just in the playoffs or barely missing it is the real question

Honestly, I thought they'd have us lower like 8th.

Ole Miss being a heavy pre-season favorite over Florida is so historically weird.

Ole Miss might get their "dream season" with all the offensive talent, but I also feel like they'll screw it up somehow.

Bama will be good because you're not gonna lose the locker room that quick after Saban leaves. Still a playoff roster. However the longer Deboer is there, the more they'll stray from a juggernaut.

Texas is the one I think people are way off on. They touched success for the first time in over a decade and I think the players are feeling themselves waaaay too much going into a much tougher season. I see them not being totally locked in and having some stumbles along the way. I think they'll lose 3 games and be hit with a big dose of reality.

As far as us, I am buying into this squad more and more as we get closer. We may not do it with a lot of flash, but I think this team is going to grind out wins and be very dangerous.

2 of those 3 teams were in the playoff last year. All 3 return their starting quarterbacks. LSU had to fire the entire defensive staff and lost a Heisman QB, 2 first round receivers, and the offensive coordinator. I’m not saying we can’t compete with them, but on paper there’s no reason have LSU on the same level as those 3 teams going into the season.
