On Friday, August 21, the LSU Office of Innovation & Technology Commercialization filed a patent for the new helmet cooling and circulation technologies. They are modular and can be used in combination with almost any off-the-shelf protective helmet available on the market—and not just football helmets.
“Player health and safety is a top priority at LSU,” football coach Ed Orgeron said. “Our staff makes sure our players have the best equipment and technology so we can have them on the field as safe as possible.”
An added bonus of these new solutions is that they can be used in combination with other protective gear, such as visors, lenses, and face guards. While such barriers are increasingly important safety features to help protect athletes from COVID-19, they have a tendency to fog up, which can make it harder for players to see, and increase overall body temperature, potentially leading to fatigue and dangerous health conditions, including heat stroke.

In 6 months Bama will reveal their new helmet circulation device.

they have a lot of cool things going on
LSU Strength staff built their own version of a data warehouse and are using tableau to study the effectiveness of each individual's workout plan
They also capture minute data from G forces on impact to speed at which the player is running through a drill. All in the name of maximizing effort and effectiveness

NCAA will ban this soon.

Except it will just be a mini A/C unit shoved in the helmet just like the computer chairs into their lockers

cutting edge stuff right there. You're welcome, football.

It's really fricking awesome that we are constantly developing or implementing new technology for the safety or improved performance of LSU athletes.

The next step is to add a voice distortion device.
"Aggie, I am your father".

The coolest thing has got to be the googles/glasses that Marucci had players wear to determine where their eyes focused better and then taking that info and using it to decide who should be on which sides of the formation and which routes they should run.

well, they filed for a patent, not the same as saying they patented the device. We’ll know more after the Patent Office examines it.
Sorry, patent geek here.

Yep. Interested to know what exactly the invention is. “Patent pending” or even patent issued doesn’t mean it’s worth a damn.
