Didn't watch the film yet but Arandas game plan worked in the second half. Wonder if we kept a spy on Stidham the whole game.

With how good Auburn is with RPO ... LSU had to keep a spy on the backfield and not over commit on Blitz's

It's insane what he can do as a coach.

After 2016 year, he said the defense used only 25% of the playbook. I can't imagine what our defense could do using 100% of his playbook.

Aranda can dictate what the other teams offense runs.

I know I was begging for a blitz in those two Auburn TD drives.

I believe they said at the beginning of the year that he's got his full playbook installed. Just as important, we've recruited the players for his system. Now we've got big 300 lb defensive linemen and some jumbo nose tackles. Now we've got a full compliment of linebackers too, and the quality of our defensive backs is downright ridiculous. On top of that, the bulk of them are young guys. They are going to get better as the season progresses. It's going to be nasty.

Tebow said we had to blitz. Tebow is suspect .

I’d pay good money to sit in a room and listen to Aranda break down an opposing offense. Best DC in the country.

White rushed, but the play didn’t qualify as a blitz; not enough players rushing the passer

We did, but he’s talking about the number of rushers, not who the rushers were.

He sorta does.

You game plan for dozens of blitzes, then you only see one in reality...but I bet LSU showed blitz a bunch.

He didn't say they didn't blitz. He said they only brought more than 4 rushers once. A LB/CB/safety can blitz but still not have more than 4 players rushing the QB

For reference here is Cubelic's later tweet
[quote]Just to be fair here. There is no reference to LSU “only rushing their front four”...

Aranda blitzed plenty. I’m only talking numbers. And only one time did I see more than 4 rush the QB. #Context LINK ]

Let's give credit where credit is due - Auburn has been the Zen master of burning defenses with those quirky slow-developing run plays for years.

As disruptive as Rashard Lawrence was, didn’t have to blitz

That's what makes an OC or DC great, is being unpredictable.

There was also some excellent blocking on those plays. Auburn has some really good players and Gus is a offensive coach. They were going to win some of the battles

This. Keep opposition off-balance.
