LSU: Where Offensive Prospects Watch Their Careers Die
quote:
OK, OK, so making fun of LSU’s crappy offense is the new making fun of LSU’s clock management, which is the new making fun of Florida’s all-penitentiary team, but the amount of great prospects LSU gets every year, and the lack of offensive firepower the Tigers produce is truly staggering. And this is true for every position.

Wow.........................that article is pretty harsh. And it's so ironic that I'm sitting here watching Auburn and Ole Miss light it up while reading it.

And when asked if the quarterbacks have been coached well in their time, Miles responded:
“I don’t know. You know, that’s a tough question. The only thing I can tell you is that they’ve been coached and coached and coached, and drilled. The passing attack has not changed so significantly that it’s not comfortable for all. I, uh, yeah, I think they’ve been coached.”
So yeah, that’s an awesome assessment of his team’s progress. I’m sure the players and fans are glad Les Miles is such a positive guy or that might have looked bad.

Truth hurts and that right there is the unvarnished truth, unfortunately.

That guy must post here.
no, he's actually watched LSU football and can decipher the blatantly obvious.....LSU IS POORLY COACHED. he's not in denial like some of you.

Quarterbacks solve every problem. Greg Davis looks like a dumbass now that Colt is gone. Meyer looks pretty blah offensively without Tebow, and had to let Rainey back on the field even after he threatened to murder his girlfriend via text message.
We suck offensively, no doubt. And there really isn't going to be much change with our current quarterbacks. So how long are we going to keep bitching about what we simply can't change right now?

This article is spot on... And the most spot on assessment iiiiiissssssss:

And then there’s Russell Shepard, a five-star quarterback in the class of ’09 from Texas. He’s now a receiver because of the glut of awesomeness LSU has at quarterback.

Miles has had five years to correct the problem. I suppose we will continue to bitch a couple more since youth will be the excuse for a couple more years. Rivers is just a prospect, and based on his record of quarterback development, I don't expect a quick turnaround.

Yea, right. A blog by someone no better than rantard here.

It gets national recognition, but not because of this blog

at least it keeps the LSU brand out there.

Where did I give Miles a pass? I'll wait for you to find that.
This isn't about our offensive deficiencies, but the fact that we have a thread about the same fricking bullshite every two minutes on this board about something that can't be changed RIGHT NOW. It can and should be changed next year, but right now, these are our two quarterbacks. Crowton is our OC. Bitching about it over and over and over again really does nothing.
Posted on 10/30/10 at 9:45 pm to T1GER
I'm no expert but I looked at Crowton's stats once and noticed exactly the same thing as this article. Great first year, then not so good. It looks like those stats hold true for his time at LSU.

It’s just that recruits are starting to figure this out. Four-star quarterback Zach Lee took the money from the Los Angeles Dodgers rather than play quarterback at LSU.
You’d have to be nuts to turn down money like that, but the point is the same: receivers will get looks from the NFL no matter what, but they sure as hell aren’t getting the ball at LSU (there are three guys tied for the team lead with 25 receptions after eight games, barely over three per game per player).
This is what will kill the program. Who on here doesn't think rival coaches aren't explaining this to recruits?

LaFell and Toliver were 4th & 6th in the conference last year in catches. LaFell was 1st in TD catches. We did a good job of getting the ball to are top 2 WRs last year. Even this year we have managed to get the ball to 3 players despite a horrible passing game. Recruits are going to see that we still base our offense on getting the ball to our WRs and are going to notice that we don't have a lot of proven depth at the position.
