Jerry Palm has LSU as a 7 seed facing UNC in the first round, with Michigan as a 1 and WVU as a 2 in that region. Palm has LSU as the 2nd highest 7 seed behind UCONN. I think LSU wins a game in Nashville they will lock up a 7 seed at worst and if they win tourney or go to Championship game would have a good shot at 6 seed.

Lundardi still has us as a 8 playing North Carolina as well. Would face Illinois in 2nd round.

I would just love another shot at Arkansas.

Days isn’t going 0-8 from three again.

The key this weekend is winning 2 games. If we go 1-1, then the dreaded 8/9 seed is very likely. Win at least 2 games, and then we're talking 6 or 7 seed and a much more favorable bracket.

I always get weary when it comes to seeding. The committee always bends us over.

I could very much see us winning two games.

How were we an 8 seed that year? We won the SEC and we’re ranked 17/21 in the country.

We could have gone deep if we didn’t run into the UNC in the second round, and we played them closer than anyone. (Also if CJ Johnson weights like 50 pounds more we Winn a NC)

I don't trust seeding predictions. I want to have that faith, but can't.

Field predictions for sure, but not seeding.

I think LSU would need to win 2 games at the SECT to get an 7 seed. That loss to Texas Tech really hurts IMO

The SEC at that time was the weakest of the major conferences at that time. Dropping 3 of the last 4 games entering the NCAA tournament to mostly the bottom of the barrel in the conference made it worse.

We're going to win the SECT.

The selection committee can do their thing afterwards.

I do think we are either the first 8 or the last 7 right now.

1-1 in the Sec tourney keeps us there

2-1 in the sec tourney maaaaaay get us to a 6 depending on what the rest of the field does.

Winning the tournament imo would get us a 6

This team needs to try and play consistent...... fact..... I’m not sure they can string together 3-4 wins in a row.....

We really do have a decent resume. All of our losses this season are to tournament teams, except for the recent Georgia loss and likely the Kentucky loss, as well. Georgia was certainly a head-scratching loss, but it's just one game. Hopefully the committee doesn't penalize us too much for it.

There was certainly nothing special about our OOC schedule. We lost to the only two good teams we played. Maybe La Tech can win their conference tourney and get us another win against a tournament team. And then of course Nicholls winning their conference tournament would help in the slightest of ways.

I think if we lose to Arkansas, we are looking at an 8 seed. If we beat Arkansas, probably a 7. Honestly, we would be deserving of either.

It’s pretty astounding how outside of 2005 LSU is either a top 4 seed or an 8/9

It’s like LSU is either really good or the committee likes to bend us over with the 8/9. Never a 7.. never a 10 or 11.

2000 4
2003 8
2005 6
2006 4
2009 8
2015 9
2019 3

ETA: And LSU was going to be an 8 last season before the tournament was canceled and they might be an 8 seed this season

ETAA: edited for clarity for our slower learners
