Take it up with SABAN
no matter sincere he is, he stands to benefit from them coming back and you are obviously biased and more interested in your benefit than the players.

You obviously don’t see how many fail and flop when they needed to stay to improve draft status.
We obviously can't see something that is doesn't happen. Also the 2 aren't mutually exclusive. Plenty of guys that stayed for 4 years flop. There is also no guarantee coming back can improve draft status it can also go down. But ultimately it depends on the player and why he's projected lower. Was it because he played poorly or not very much? of is physical attributes? For example Jarvis Landry wasn't going in the first round because he's under 6' and is not a burner another year of college wasn't going to change that.

I’m assuming Deculus moves to LT next year or do we keep him at RT and start Rosenthal at LT?
Posted on 1/15/20 at 7:29 pm to chilge2
I believe Farrell is in also from what I've read
Posted on 1/15/20 at 7:29 pm to sunnydaze
Rosenthal at LT & Deculus at RT.

I get that they may feel like they have accomplished all there is in college with this magical season. But they haven't. College is also about getting developed into a person who can maximize their earning potential. Of the 8 who have declared, three are making seriously bad decisions - Queen, Phillips and Charles.
Patrick Queen could win the Butkus and be a first rounder if he comes back. Right now he "might" be a third rounder. To put that in perspective, Devin Bush was a first rounder. He signed a 4 year, $19 million contract. All $19 million was guaranteed. He got $11.7 million up front. This is what Patrick could realistically get with another year. April 2021.
Now if he goes in the third round, like Sione Takitaki, he is looking at 4 years, $3.7 million. Only $960,000 is guaranteed and that is his signing bonus. April 2020.
I recognize this is not chump change. But Queen is risking potentially $19 million for $960K with this decision.
And if you say you think he goes round 2, that's 4 years, $6.9 million of which $3.8 is guaranteed. Again $19 Million v. $3.8 Million.
Phillips is likely a 4th or 5th rounder, who could work himself into the second round. So instead of 4 years, $6.9 million, with a $3 million signing bonus and $3.8 million guaranteed, he is looking at a 4 year contract of between $2.8 and $3.2 million, and both a signing bonus and guaranteed money of $308,000 to $734,000.
I recognize that those numbers are all very good. But they are not life altering in the way that the numbers could be if either Queen and Phillips return.
And Charles...oy vey. NFL teams may look past weed issues for a generational talent. But once you get past the first round, the inability to stay off the grass is a big time hindrance. If Charles came back and stayed clean and proved that pot did not control him and if he performed even slightly better than this year, he had the potential to be a late first rounder. Worst case late second rounder. He is instead going somewhere between round 5 and UDFA, depending on his interviews. He is literally trading ~ $3 million guaranteed for $0-$250,000 guaranteed.
Absolutely atrocious decision on his part.
Jefferson, Delpit (and presumably Chaisson) are all 1st or 2nd rounders. They should go. Tough to peg where CEH goes, but he's a RB who isn't getting taller or faster. Hard to argue. But Charles, Queen, Phillips (and potentially Stevens, Vincent and Shelvin) are making disastrous short-term decisions that you hate to see.
