Have a downvote He is way better of where he is compared to a zoo and second off if you havent noticed he loves when people come see him...Taking him out of the habitat he is been in for 8-9 years will most definitely put him under stress
He recognizes people who visit him regularly, and it is pretty clear he likes to interact with them. Putting him in another environment would be stressful and even cruel. He has the best medical care available, and a better habitat than would be available anywhere else. Besides what zoo is going to take a terminally ill cat?
Mike VI has been a great mascot and ambassador for LSU, whether he goes to the stadium or not. He has fans galore and lots of folks, not just LSU fans have visited him. He deserves the best that LSU can offer him in the time he has left.

Is it possible that he stopped loading up because he felt bad? How long has he had symptoms of this illness?

You idiot have you seen a better facility than what Mike has?

Mike will never be treated better than he is at LSU.

People are stupid.
He is probably the best cared for animal in the world. Has vets on call 24/7. Lives like a king and people want to move him.

This will be a big national fight. Mark my words.
No. It actually won't. PETA has no power other than writing letters. All we have to do is realize PETA doesn't know what they are talking about when it comes to Mike and ignore them. We will continue to have a live a tiger mascot.

I guess kinda like how we just ignore idiots that cry that people should be able to use whatever bathroom they happen to feel like that day.
Good point.

Honest answer: You can't even say "ride in the car" without his going berserk. He lives for "loading up" and takin' a ride. He is by breeding a hunting dog so he thinks he's going out for a hunt. Seriously.
They are not hunting breeds per se, but but they hunt things other than birds or game. Two of my AmStaff mixes did over 13k miles with me last year and love to travel, stay in hotels, have fun working at the end designation. They go ape shite happy when we go to the vehicle to go somewhere to train, hike, whatevs.
Mike isn't a dog or eagle, the game day trailer tradition should be done. I am not even a fan of bulldog mascots on the field early season in really hot weather due to their limited breathing and cooling capacity, sitting on a bag of ice doesn't fix that challenge.

What's the record for down votes on here?

Can we stop comparing the two issues. They have nothing in common. At all.

Yes they do. They're both equally stupid and conjured up by the minds of retards.

No...not like that at all, actually.
LSU already has a track record of telling PETA to go frick itself regarding no longer having Mike. This was addressed back in 2007, and there's a 0.0% chance LSU's official position will have changed.
There is a significant difference between what can be argued is a civil rights issue for humans versus the clamoring of animal rights activists that essentially no one cares about. The only way...and I mean THE ONLY WAY LSU moves forward without Mike on campus would be if A)There are no longer Tigers alive or B) Actual legislation is instituted making it illegal to have one. Given the real world issues of Tigers being on the verge of extinction and them having almost no shot at survival outside of captivity, there's no chance of that happening.
So...in the end we have an interest group boringly trying the same shite they tried nearly a decade ago, and folks who look to anger porn daily for the new thing to get mad about actually giving them a forum.
Someone want to mark any words they are these...LSU will release a letter nearly identical to the one O'Keefe released back in 2007 telling PETA in no uncertain terms that LSU will continue having Mike on campus and why, and they'll move on with PETA standing by the side of the road looking for the next thing to complain about.

It's one thing to be against the cruelty of animals but the PETA people are fighting against giving a tiger that would live in a zoo with other tigers and animals getting some attention and give him a home in a very nice habitat with 100 percent commitment from vet and caretakers to that tiger and that tiger only.

I hope that there is some mention in that letter regarding the timing of their complaint. We're still grieving for our beloved and sick mascot and we have to deal with this shite. frick them for that. I'd also tell them not to bother with another request when Mike VII passes. As long as there are tigers in captivity, LSU will have one.
