We are putting ourselves in a terrible position.

1. If we wait around and fire Will Wade after the trail at the end of April, we will be in a bind for a coaching search. All the big name coaches will have gone else where. Also, i'm sure if they fire Will Wade, they will get rid of the entire staff.

2. We are killing ourselves in recruiting right now. If we wait and reinstate Wade after the April trial, we will lose out on the last few targets.

IMO, waiting in limbo is killing the program right now. We need to make a decision one way or another as quick as possible. Either reinstate Wade and try and finish strong in recruiting and cooperate with the NCAA on investigations or fire him and go get a new coach with enough time to try and sign a few players before the deadline.

Again, Alleva and company are destroying the program even more. All it would take is a simple comment regarding the reinstatement of Wade or a firing.

Or we could just wait until after the trial at the end of the month

If they fire Wade, no big name coach is coming here. It's Wade or bust.

I am glad we are waiting. I would rather take the hit in recruiting and possibly finding a replacement just for chance to keep Wade. LSU wants to keep him otherwise they could of fired him weeks ago.

By doing that you are losing out on remaining recruits and any personnel you would like to add to your staff.

What does waiting until after the trial solve? (From An LSU Perspective, Not Wades)

Yeah. Fire Wade now and see what the candidate pool looks like. The best decision at this point is to ride it out with Wade. Name Greg Heir as the interim HC when Benford leaves to go to A&M.

Okay, i understand that, but why does LSU need to wait until after the trail to back Wade?

Because Alleva and Alexander made this a pissing contest last month and they don't want to be seen as backing down.

Should have simply said from the start, we are going to let the situation play out.

If the worst happens and the program ends up in the shitter, there are worse things than having Heir and/or Armstrong on the staff IF they choose to stay. Those guys are very capable and what better place to start your head coaching career...there would be almost zero expectations while the program is hindered by draconian sanctions and they could steadily build the program back to respectability

It's always better to RUSH and make a hasty decision that may turn out to be horrible.

To wait and be patient and possibly retain the current coach is always the wrong call, right?

Our best chance to build a program, by far, is to retain Wade. I think its worth letting this play out if there is even a 1/10 chance we get to keep him. Even if we have 1 bad recruiting year, he'll fix the problem in no time.

So
1- Fire Alleva this week!

2- have temp AD state we're waiting on FBI/trial. (Reinstate Wade while waiting?- prob wont make much difference.)
3- slow play the keeping of Wade to minimize media distraction.

I agree, i want no more than Wade to be our coach. I just don't understand why LSU doesn't release a statement saying we are working with Coach Wade and plan to cooperate with the NCAA during this time. At least it would help us in recruiting.

Why can't y'all get it through your thick skulls???

LSU is in no position to hire a "wanted" basketball coach. LSU will be scraping the bottom of the barrel if we have to look for a new head basketball coach. No coach with options will choose to take the LSU basketball job with the sanctions and/or this clown administration.

It's done. It's over.

Or we wait and talk to him after the trial and see if our coach is innocent and we can keep him.

Do you not see what is happening in the coaching/recruiting world around us? The way the AD has played this has royally fricked us.

If they fire Wade, they will be gutting the program. Any coach that was involved in recruiting will be let go. I think a major reason that Benford was moved to interm was the fact that he wasn't tied to any players recruitment.

Why rush to a decision? The trial hasn’t even happened yet and may not happen at all.

I assume the irony was intentional, right?

Nvm, you're just a shill for the AD and too clueless to get it.
