That Charlie McClendon was forced out as coach because he "couldn't beat the Bear"
The USC facemask myth (was disproven with video evidence)
That Gerry DiNardo put up the "fence"

The issue I hear more is USC was guilty of illegal procedure on the play, which was proven to be true by video evidence.

You heard the facemask thing without stop until someone posted it on YouTube and then it died down.
Then they started to talk about the false start a little more.

I hate the myth that we are co-national champions with USC in 2003. We have the glass!

Not really, Charlie Mac brought it up post-game (read the game story) and always brought it up each time he was interviewed about the game.

Les Miles is a nice guy = Les Miles is a good coach. False equivalency.

It was always talked about, but for the longest time it was about "the BS facemask call".

No way buddy, everyone here is a self-made multi-millionaire.
Or is that a myth too?

not sure I've heard that one, specifically...although one can certainly argue that his relationship with his players, as well as his perceived character, certainly help with recruiting.

Tiger Stadium is the loudest, hardest place for an opposing team to play.
Not anymore. The fans have changed.
Unfortunately.

Let's see... LSU Myths...
1. Death Valley was MUCH louder in the (60's, 70's, 80's ... insert random decade when you went to school here).
2. LSU doesn't have good academics. This is bullshite. It's not the Ivy League. It's not even Vanderbilt or Texas. But it's not as bad as we let OTHERS tell us it is. In 20 years following graduation, I've never been told my LSU degree wasn't good enough in the job market. And I graduated with a liberal arts degree.
3. Night games are best because we have all day to drink. The majority of LSU fans in Death Valley are not drunk. It's a myth that drunks perpetuate to justify their level of drinking on gameday.
4. LSU is not a basketball school. Traditionally, it has had a very strong basketball program. Too many of you are too young to remember it. Check the PMAC attendance records from the 70's through the 90's, though. The people are there. We used to look forward to basketball season around here. What's wrong now? We're not winning consistently. One good year won't put butts in the seats. When we win, we are a basketball force.
5. "I don't owe LSU anything." This is the myth people tell themselves to justify not giving to the university (particularly academics), and not doing something as simple as paying $50 to join the alumni association. It's shameful how low the percentage of giving to LSU is. It is NORMAL to give back to your university. This is what everyone else does at every university in the country other than LSU. LSU is abnormal in this practice of not giving.
That's all I got for now. I can probably think of 20 more, but those are the ones that come to mind first.

The people who run LSU have no other objective than to take as much money from the fans as possible because they are evil, greedy dictators.

At its loudest, it still compares. But it takes a major event (like the USC score being announced in 2007) for it to get that loud now. There's no doubt it doesn't get as loud for sustained periods of time now.
LSU and Tiger Stadium policies are not as conducive toward it now.

why was mathieu in more as our extra DB than anyone else? why did ridley start over murphy? stampley over dugas? Lonergan over Hebert? montgomery over aghayere?

I dont know of anyone that says he locked down the state completely. But if you don't think he deserves credit for starting the process then you are either naive or just plain biased.

"(LSU postion coach) is going to go (school name)."
Or...
"(Other school position coach) is for sure coming to LSU to coach."
