Doubt it but defenses that hold teams to less than 15 points aren’t around. Just need 4-5 stops of your game fence is worth a dime

Michigan literally just won a title only allowing 10 points a game.

There's a lot of hard work to be done by this new collective staff, but there's very little CBK could have done to get this new staff any better. It's very impressive.

I don't think he wanted Raymond. I feel like people around the program pushed for Raymond to get the job and eventually Kelly caved.

I’ll never doubt Woodward. Ever.

He has proven time and time again he is an elite AD and in my opinion the best one in the country.

Have you forgotten BK's first two years already?

Lets wait until the first kickoff and see if we can field a kick before we start giving rewards.

Why so many downvotes? BK and LSU have assembled one of the greatest group of recruiters and coaches in college football. The future is bright!

Lol what???

What about first two years did not involve punching above our belt and winning games and accolades we should not have been in the running for?

Beat Bama and won sec west year one.

Won a Heisman and was in every single game we played despite the worst defense in the history of lsu….

You can gripe about the year 2 defense but what didn’t he do???? He made a change and is going full bore to fix it.

Amazing first two years regardless of what team he took over even better when u take into account the cancerous culture and team make up he originally started with. Dude can coach and is doing all the right things…

It’s frustrating that in hindsight just promoting Raymond to DC in 22 might have been enough to make 23 a playoff team with that offense.

Frick that!

The "Kids" ( ) loved Mike Archer too when he was DC under Arnsparger.

I don't care if the "Kids" ( ) love him or hate him.

Just play fricking football.....

If we can land 3-5 select players from the portal, we can definitely have a step change in defense next year.
We don't have to be a top 20 defense next year. I'm hoping for a top 50 to top 30. We'll be very competitive if that happens.
Go Tigers!!

Coach speak trust the process. The crux of the matter is in the execution. As Tyson said everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face. So as always, we got to see it on the field before we can celebrate. It is a good start and a trend in the right direction. We do not have to have an elite defense just a good one will be an monumentous achievement.

I wouldn't say it's the best defensive staff in the country. It's just my opinion, results will tell the tale.

It's certainly debatable but there is no question that the LSU staff upgraded at every level of their defensive staff.

You hired the two most highly thought of D Line coaches in the country.

You hired a young budding star at DC in Baker.

You hired a DB coach with as many or more skins on the wall than anyone in Raymond.

We'll see what Olsen's role will actually be.

It's undeniable that there are some elite coaches on this staff.

You are saying Daniels ineptness in 23 had nothing to do with our loss to A&M. His screw up vs Arkansas almost cost us that game.
An awesome a play by Perkins saved that game.
I gave him credit when he earned it. I criticized him when he deserved it. It took his fifth year as a starter for him to mature into the best in the NCAA.

I remember some basketball transfer from California being touted over Tari Eason.
Hell he was so impressive I can't remember his name

This is Kellys team. Kelly built this staff. Why do you think Woodward needs credit here? Because he let BK use LSU's checkbook?

Raymond and Davis are here because of the AD? uh, no

Teams will still score 30+

Well no shite. This is the 2020's not the 70's. 30 isn't that special any more.

The arguably best team ever gave up 30+ four times in 2019 and close to that a couple more times.

If the 2024 Tigers give up 30+ four times, I will be whistling Dixie out my arse. Hell, the 2023 team gave up 40+ three times.

So yes, some teams will score 30.

The only teams that consistently give up less than 30 are teams that have decent defenses AND are sooooo sloooow and eat up clock ala Mechigan.

Bottom line, if you want a high scoring offense, be prepared to give up points. There are other things involved in giving up points than just defense.
