Didn't say I was good with 5 wins. Just think that's reality with this team. I have supported Mac, but he's got to start landing more difference makers.

Why is he not going anywhere for a while? Same subpar product. Can’t recruit and bland

Not much money is going to basketball period bc it’s a bland program and no offense but bland coach. I know we will not get him back but Will Wade brought excitement and could have brought in more NIL. That’s the kind of coach we need. Someone with fire and can drum up money.

No, you're a loser because you're a loser.

don’t see how this team gets any more than 6 wins in conference.

From my understanding, the prevailing consensus is that 8 or 9 wins is the expectation, and would be considered successful this season.

The SEC is projected to get 12 teams in this years tournament right now so there won’t be a better opportunity for coach Mac to get in. 8 wins is probably a lock, 7 is even a possibility.

What does it take to get a coach here with fire and kick arse attitude. Every other fricking sec school can except LSU, come on administration wake up!

It’s just not a priority here. In our entire history the most high profile coach we’ve ever hired was Trent Johnson. Think about what that says in terms of our intent and aggressiveness towards winning.

Who has georgia hired with a fire and kick arse attitude? Same question with miss st? Same question with vandy?

Also, we had one already, just like 3 years ago

Well UGA had Durham who was very good and they’ve made other big name hires like Crean and and Tubby Smith. Vandy has had some really good ones too like Eddie Fogler and Kevin stallings. State was the 2nd best team in the SEC for over a decade under Stansberry and Richard Williams plus they made an aggressive hire with 3x final four coach Ben Howland so when it comes to hires those teams have been more aggressive than we have.

Sorry but that was the standard set before he got here.

LMAO

What did we have, 3 or 4 years where we made a trny and sometimes won a game in the tourney? I'm not knocking that we got in a few years, but it isn't like we were some bigtime program where we were making major runs in the trny.

If you want to look at standard, and I'm sure well before your time, go back to the 80s and early 90s for a real standard. I remember when they used to say don't let the Tigers and Dale get hot heading into the trny. It felt like we always had a chance to make a deep run in the trny, even on a down year.....making multiple final 4s and may sweet 16's and better. Now, we are reduced to calling a standard where we won what, 2 or 3 trny games total?

No. Now the standard is “head in the right direction.”

Maybe it’s a strategy from MM since the SEC is brutal this year.

You don't make the tourney unless you have some wins over ranked teams.
I heard a Coach the other day say Alabama's HC is a master at scheduling teams that will put him into the tourney.

Zero fanbase for this product

Why would I spend my money and time to watch an exhibition game?
Even the players didn't come ready to play.

Ms State played Memphis this weekend, Auburn played Purdue, Kentucky played Ohio Sate and here we are playing a bottom 20 team in the country.

8 of our 12 games played thus far have been worthless games, and our next opponent is literally the last place NET ranking team in the country at 364.
After next week when we play last place MS Valley State, only onne school ranked in the top 130 will have played more Q4 teams than us, and surprise suprise, it's the last place team in the SEC, South Carolina.
Currently, only 23 teams have played more Q4 teams than us, out of 364 teams, and of those 23, us, South Carolina and Utah are the only teams from major conferences.

Coulda been handled better imo…without knowing the facts.

From a fans perspective- he gets you 20 a night, you have to live with some of the Iso ball, right?

Had a team that couldn’t score… and we are putting handcuffs on a scorer. He KNEW what kind of player he was… why go get him if he didnt want that style of play?

Another example of bad coaching ..

LSU has never had a pulse in basketball except when Dale and then John Brady built the program.. It took Brown about a Decade to get the ball rolling.
Fans treated Brady like they treated Wade.
You get what you deserve.
Enjoy!

Wade was 100x more popular than Brady. Brady was a good Xs and Os coach and had a few really good teams, but his attitude back then was poor and he couldn't keep players on the team as time went on. Brady himself would likely admit that today. Brady basically ran himself off and it was time for him to go when he did.

Had Reed not gotten hurt I would have said 7-8 SEC wins would be a reasonable expectation and might even have gotten us in the tourney because of the conference strength.

Hard to say how many wins if any Reed is worth but I'd say 1 or two.

Losing that SMU game for me is fairly significant given that our best hope is to scratch in as a bubble team - and at the risk of upsetting McGrath again and repeating myself again - these last 3 games before conference start also does us no favors.

Brady wasn’t popular because his teams didn’t score a lot and his offenses were hard to watch. He was also known for driving talent away with his abrasiveness and fans didn’t like that. But when his rosters stayed intact he had some really good teams and he was always excellent on defense.
