re: LSU may be ranked No. 10, but the reality is we're not a top 10 or a legitimate CFP team

Although I want LSU to make the playoffs, it would take a modern day miracle for this team to make the playoffs based on how it has performed up this point of the season. We just have too many weaknesses to overcome to make a serious run at making the playoffs.
Oh FFS. Some of you are the most negative, depressing, soul-sucking people I’ve ever encountered.
Look around the field: what team is truly dominant in all three phases this year?
Yes LSU needs to clean up some stuff on offense, but this team is far from out of it. This is maybe the most parity I’ve ever seen in CFB.

Isn’t our “ best win “ so far against Clemson also ?!?
That was my point. Even if it was LSU’s best win, LSU controlled the game more than Georgia Tech did and they did it on the road.

Yeah with nil, transfer portal, plus 12 team playoff, this is going to be the norm.

So, let’s take a look at the teams behind them:
Great response. So "many on htis board see everything through a negative lens. The "yeah, buts just wait for something negativ to happen. The constant " when they play this opponent" refrain isridiculous. There is great parity in the game due tothe portal and offensive athleticism.

Great win against South Carolina but I think it’s pretty clear LSU won’t meet most expectations this year. Nuss just isn’t the premier QB we thought and too many deficiencies on offense to beat the best teams in the country. Still look forward to a great season but a feel like we may see another loss against Vandy.

LSUs offense will be about the 2nd or 3rd best offense Vandy has seen and is better than the average offense they have faced.
8&4's Defense is hitting their stride. Auburn and Florida are putrid but 8&4 did what they are supposed to do. MSU has a better o rank than LSU and Aggie was solid. I know MSU gave Aggie some help but, still impressive. Ark is the best offense in the league and the game is in hogville so something to watch this weekend but, as of now, that looks like a bad matchup for the LSU o.
Bama looks like the best team in the country. Bama d was solid against very good offenses. They should be more than a match for LSU, as things stand right now
It's one thing to improve at home but this weekend will be a very visible test to see if the run game/offense has improved or last week was just home energy

Thanks for all the info. The problem is LSU plays down to its opponent and eventually that catches up to you. Unlike Alabama that destroys its opponents, we let everyone hang around.

Dude, if you think we're playing on the same level as Alabama, you need a new drug dealer or you need to lay off the alcohol! Alabama is playing some of the best football in the country!
They just went on the road against two of the toughest road teams in the country and beat both of them. They broke Georgia's 33-game home winning streak and just beat Missouri to break their 15-game home winning streak.
Listen, I live in Alabama, so that last thing I want to see is those guys kicking our arse, but the reality is, they would! If we played those guys right now, they would give us a major arse whoppin'. Their weakness is against the run! Well, that doesn't help us because have the worst OL in the SEC and maybe in the country and we can't run the ball! We're also averaging 100 yards less a game on offense compared to last year and once again find ourselves alone at the bottom of the SEC again.
We may be 5-1, but our biggest win is against a mediocre 3-3 South Carolina team and our second biggest win is against FCS school that drove the bus on game day to play us!
I pull hard for LSU just like everybody else, but I don't sugarcoat the truth, and the truth is, we have a good record, but we're nowhere near an elite football team!

No doubt Bama is playing well, but your off the cuff remark about Bama not letting teams hang around is absolutely incorrect as evidenced by the scores I cited.
Just take the L and move on along. Your rebuttal has no relevance as to your baseless claim.

We all had that stink face watching Nuss stink up the place against Ole Miss. SLOAN AIN'T OUR PROBLEM
Posted on 10/16/25 at 7:13 am to homemadeshine
We are a top 10 team if Nuss can put up 300+ yrds per game. 250 not going to get wins against Bama or A&M.
