440 rushing yards

LSU's "gameplan" (if that's what you want to call it) somehow merged from an agressive, attacking defense all year long to "let's not attack at the line of scrimmage or in the backfield, rather, let's allow Cam a 3-4 yd running start so he can run over our players at full speed".

It won't stop (or even slow down) Ingram and Richardson either.

it was a tie game with 7:50 left to play and we had the ball and needed about 25 yards to get in FG range...can't ask for more than that...our offense sucks sucks

Beginning around the 7:50 mark of the 4th quarter, the offense had a grand total of 1 yard for the remainder of the game. Crowton earning that paycheck.

I love our D but if we play that no attack, wait and see concept we imployed against Aub next week Bama will make us pay. Every time we went after Cam (which was rare) we forced him into a bad decision or a small gain. The rest of the game he did what ever he wanted. Every time they showed a close up of him I swear he was laughing at us. This is the 1st and only game we have played all year that I have even thought of giving any blame to the D for a loss so being the other 7 games they saved our buts I think they deserve a bye on this one. Bama will completley destroy us if we play the same scheme we did this past weekend. They don't have a mobile QB so there is no excuse to even think about it.

In the end, how many yards AU got didn't matter as much as the points they scored. Chavis had our defense playing a "bend but don't break" gameplan. Poor tackling led our defense to break a couple of times, but they still held the best offense in the SEC, possibly the country, to 24 points. Do I need to remind you naysayers that the week before AU scored 63 points vs Arky? Defense and ST held their own, the offense couldn't make it happen. We lost because of offense, plain and simple.

You do understand that AUB rans a Night and Day different offense approach then Bama.

I understand completly but if we sit back and try and tackle one of those two freight trains coming out of the backfield one on one like we did against Cam we are going to get ran over again. We put pressure on the QB and LSU can take this game. We don't, Bama will run all over us as well.

Different offense still = same result if we play on our heals against guys that are tough to bring down.

The sports talking dogs were right, for a change. They said we couldn't outpoint Auburn and they were right.

I'm not arguing that our offense sucked, but it's sucked all year.

The defense was horrible. Cam with over 12 yds per carry. GTFO with it was all the offense's fault. They didn't help, but still no excuse for such abysmal defending."

17-17 with the ball with 7 minutes to go is good enough defensively to win. We could have cut their yardage in half and given the ball back to our O many more times and it wouldn't have yielded any more points. You win and lose on the scoreboard, not the stat book.

Our D played the old style of Chavis defense which is bend don't break. I an not a huge fan of 3rd and chavis but it would have worked had our O showed up to jordan -hare. It wasnt pretty and we gave up a shite ton of yards but if u would have told me we held auburn to 24 i would thought we won. If, and thats a huge IF, we can get the offense to gel we can win out. I am not worried about our D we can stop a basic running attack. we have a top 3 defensive squad and prolly the best run stopping unit in the country. they were embarrased in Aburn. I almost feel sorry for bama, almost. They gonna face a pack of wild dogs come next saturday in Death valley.

And where do we get an offense in a week? I am afraid we will have our second loss next week.

It could have been 27 or 31 if Chizik didn't kneel on it.

This

Our defense should have made more tackles but when you fail to have any meaningful offensive possessions in the second half you are going to lose

I don't know how many teams in the NCAA hold Auburn to only 14 second half points if you do about zero on offense

Enough with this. LSU was trying to force a TO on the last drive. In fact it would've been better for LSU if they would've score a TD so they could get the ball back.

The defense played fine. The offense kept them on the field all game, and the team lost. Will be the story of the game vs. Alabama too, except our offense won't get nearly as many first downs, and will probably have a few more turnovers as well.

Yes, we had them right where we wanted em, we were fixing to unleash the boys, we had a want to do it earlier, but the call was not communicated.

Ikid, I kid. I agree with most of your post.

So it would have been to LSU's advantage to get the ball back down 14 with less than a minute to go....hmmmmmmm

I will go slow so you can understand.

Chance of winning without the ball and no TOs down by 7 = .00001% Need a miracle fumble out of victory formation plus go 90 yds to score.

Chance of winning if we let them score and get the ball back with around a min down 14 = Slim but not out of the question. LSU has great special teams so things "could" happen. Quick TD then an onsides kick recovery. Much crazy stuff than that has happened.

Understand now??

I think his point is that AU downed the ball on the last play on our 3 yd line. Had they really been trying to score they could have done so basically as the clock ran out - no time left for us to do more than perhaps return a single KO.
