Saints also run it. People from Louisiana and/or long-time LSU fans know this because they watch the Saints on Sundays. I'd bet you don't.

Yeah, right. Miss St had no trouble defending it. If it ain't broke, DON'T fix it!

MISS St. played our receivers more physical than anyone...bunch formations make it tougher to prevent our wrs from getting off the line. Many experts have mentioned the bunch formation is based on NFL concepts and now you are disputing the concept that JB brought to LSU. You are looking like an idiot in this thread. We didn't play great and still put up 36 while leaving 13 pts on the field quit being a drama queen.

Saints ran a bunch of max protect yesterday and are 6-1

I believe the Saints scored on a two receiver route to start the second half

How many is a "bunch".

LSU ran it 19 times in the first half... only twice in the second - a sack, and a 1-yard loss running.

It is very enlightening to see who is pimping for this bunch-crap on the Rant.

Pretty much who I expected.

Receivers drops are back in a big way too.

I mean if we are going to over analyze a game

They have 1 win and 6 losses... Right?

Did you look at the date on that article? It's from 2017, when the Falcons went 10-6.

Also we gained 7.7 yards per play and 0.52 points per play on those "non-spread" drives you're complaining about...

Because of the yards/points from the dumbest missed assignment of the SEC season.

We've been doing it a fair amount all season; I'm going to guess 10%.

This is a Tight formation:

This is a Bunch formation:

Bunch is a group or cluster of receivers close to each other on one side of the field. "Against man coverage, bunch creates picks or rubs that allow receivers to get open, and against zone coverage, it can create a numbers advantage by putting three receiving options in a zone that's defended by two opponents."

We ran it alot more just going off memory Sat. I think McMath's TD was out of bunch formation (he was opposite of overload).

That was a Tight formation:

Also Tight:

you are just worried that Joe had lower yardage

We win the game with the coaches that have turned our offense around. We trust they know wtf they are going.

No one is pumping anything. We like our team winning because we are fans of LSU.

That is foreign to you as you don’t give two shits about LSU

I dont think we needed it. Brady/Ensminger wanted to see what other formations we could work on if Au and Bama figure the spread out.

I agree. That said, I think the play calling in the red zone could've been better.

Because causing confusion in coverage is definitely not a reason teams use bunch formations.

Are people trying to say we've been running that formation all year? As in, more than just "sprinkling it in"?

If not, then the OP has a point.

I was kind of thinking they didn’t mind having a few short field goals to try in game situations to help Cade York get out of the mini funk he was in. He seemed to be losing his confidence but he made three straight FGs to start the game.

We may very well need him in the next two games.

thats called practicing something in a game for a matchup down the schedule. they went spread when we wanted to gain a cushion.
it's not that complicated people.

We do use that formation or variations of that formation a lot...but it looks to me that it's a game-to-game decision based on game plan for a specific team.
