Pearson was disappointing a large part of the season, which is why he went from being a presumed starter to riding the pine
He did come up big in some key games late, but it would be disingenuous not to acknowledge he was the most unstable part of the lineup.
I think Jay played him at times because he’s always liked him (and wants his brother to come to LSU too)

Bingham is an everyday starter alongside white. I feel confident in saying that. And im pretty damn confident in pearson.

If you think Jay is just playing Pearson because he wants his younger brother to come to LSU your an idiot. He trusts Pearson he says that all the time. Pearson is reliable in the feild and won’t make the big mistake at the plate

Does everybody not realize we lose game 1 if not for Pearson??
I mean I well aware. I was sitting left foul line. I saw that ball going over his head.
I think the thread got hijacked a bit though.

Bingham is an everyday starter. He not leaving Arizona his senior year to not play every day. Plus he is a Jay guy. Pearson is also a Jay guy.

Neither of these explain why Pearson was out there in the bottom of the 10th in game one of the national championship series. The guy can play

There are probably 10 plays by various players or more and 100’s of pitches by pitchers you could say were game defining moments and could have won or lost the game.

Of course he likes him. He is very talented and hit .300 as a true freshman. That’s a guy who you keep giving opportunities because you know he’s capable and is going to put it together at some point. And he did. The stuff about his brother is utter nonsense

I wasn’t disputing he should be penciled in. Just stating it’s not out of the realm that people would think a Soph who had an up an down yr, but came through late in the season when it mattered the most could have a Kramer Robertson type off season and put it all together. Imo until someone else completely blows the coaches away he should absolutely be penciled in as the starter. Kid faced adversity and never blinked or pouted which is rare in this era of college athletics .

I haven’t seen anything where he says he’s coming back but if he does we need his offense.

It’s fair to say he was the most unstable part of the lineup.
Agree he showed he can play his freshman season but also fair to say he had a sophomore slump. Most thought he would be a mainstay at the top of the lineup coming into the season.
