Thank you. We win today and we are no lower than #4 BCS. Doesn't matter what anyone else does. If Sugar isn't available then it's probably the Orange.

I'd also say their is a better than remote chance LSU gets in the Sugar even with a loss today. But, I won't start going into details now to avoid the negative karma.

You are right. Not 100% automatic qualifier. But pretty damn close.

please read

quote:

The #4 BCS team ONLY if the #3 team didn't use a spot from the #3 rule AND that team is from a BCS conference

quote:

If you have 9 wins and are in the BCS Top 14, you're eligible to be selected. There are no requirements other than this. The only exception is that once there are two teams from your conference selected (either automatically or at-large) your team then becomes ineligible for selection.

so if its like this

oregon
TCU
Auburn
LSU

we go to cap one even though we are ranked #4

Apparently, we have learned this morning this is not true!

I believe the only scenario where 3 SEC teams teams get BCS bids is if 2 non-conference champions are ranked one and two at the end of the season. Don't quote me on this, though.

If South Carolina wins, Auburn may be left out. Orange Can pick either Auburn or LSU. May pick LSU because of fan travel. If Auburn loses to SC, they fall out of top 5

if we win today and Auburn wins next week... and Oregon losses next week what happens? Do we jump Oregon/TCU and play Auburn? there is no way that could happen right?

I just found this online: "No more than two teams from a conference may be selected, regardless of whether they are automatic qualifiers or at-large selections, unless two non-champions from the same conference are ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the final BCS Standings."

LINK

I guess I stand corrected. If AUB loses to SC, and they stay ahead of LSU, we are left out. Can you imagine? And we could possibly be BCS #3 at the time if we jump TCU!

If AU finishes #3 and LSU #4, AU goes to the BCS automatically and LSU to the Cap One. The Orange Bowl DOES NOT get to pick

If Auburn loses to SC, as both LSUMATT and I have shown, AU will be ahead of LSU at #3. That is about a 99% guarantee. When that hjappens LSU is left out. The idea that it is any other way is preposterous and a boldfaced lie.

you are wrong. only 2 teams from a conference can go. If SC beats aub, then sc goes to sugar and auburn probably to orange....because SC will earn the automatic bid, and auburn will still be in the top 4 and would have beaten us and have been 12-0. Normally, the top 4 guarantess a spot...but remember only TWO teams can go from a conference.

MY HEAD IS GOING TO EXPLODE! here's an idea. Wait till 7pm tonight, see if we win, then become an auburn fan. That is the only sure fire way we get the bcs game. Hell even matt thinks some of y'all are retarded and I have hardly ever seen him negative!
