isten dude, you're not interested in an open dialog about football you're here to start shite and try to impress yourself by lording your opinion over others and attack any opposition with your quips and barbs
I haven't attacked anyone. I've given my opinion with detailed posts with supporting evidence and logic and consistent reason. Apparently I have upset you by calling out your hypocrisies and argumentative fallacies, but that's kind of how arguments work so instead of AD hominems, why don't you construct an actual argument that holds water to defend O? I know it's hard but I'm sure it could be done better than you have in this thread
quote:
First off those quips and barbs aren't clever or funny partly because you're almost always wrong and off with them.
You say I don't want to have a discussion, but I am having a discussion while you sit there and simply state "nope you're wrong" without any recourse or explanation why I am wrong.
quote:
Secondly I don't like people like you I find you boring and repulsive so let's just avoid any farther correspondence ok.
I'm going to keep responding to you in this thread if you keep making these silly arguments. It's just gonna happen, sorry to tell you.

I just don't understand the complete and utter meltdown.
It's pretty simple. We hire an unproven (arguably proven to be bad) coach and then promptly lost to our historic punching bag worse than we have since WWII. Of course, the season isn't over and we COULD salvage something out of it with a 180 turnaround. But it's perfectly understandable people would be VERY concerned with that effort and display going forward and that it would manifest in widespread melts.

Yes, O was recruiting the last two years, but he wasn't ultimately responsible for the classes.
And the classes aren't the only reason we are as thin as we are in some areas. Yes, we were losing a lot from last year's team. Then we lost even more than we were expected lose as of 11/26/16, while nothing was done about it.

I agree with OP to a point. However, can we not all acknowledge that we are very thin in many areas? Yes, O was recruiting the last two years, but he wasn't ultimately responsible for the classes.
Why weren't these concerns brought up prior to last night? That was not the narrative that was being sold by O and Alleva

Were people expecting a National Championship this year? Would people have been less upset if we'd have lost by 3 on a late field goal.
We were told losses like this would not happen. We were told we were not rebuilding and we would be competing immediately with o
It doesn't help that we lost in a way that was directly in line with Os career at Ole Miss

I remember in 2014 going into Florida that I thought we would have a losing season. We turned it around. If I learned anything from that year is we have to see how things play out.
So when are we allowed to worry? After 2 more losses? 3? 5?

look the season can be separated into 4 quarters of 3 games each. After the first quarter of our season we have 2 wins, multiply that by 4 and you get 8 wins which is how many we were predicted to have.

I'll employ a statement that's been popular around here the past few years.
It's not that we lost, it's the way we lost.

Oh. And because you're simple minded, maybe you're unaware that on pace is VERY FREQUENTLY used when not describing equal results per unit.
For reference, see marathon runners who have a course that's flat for the first 13 and then hilly thereafter.
I know these might be concepts a shade higher than your 3rd grade math might take you but, try.
Oh. And just like hills aren't "subjective", neither is Ponting out opponent quality

Worry whenever you want. I'm just saying no change will be made this year. People are going ape shite after one loss and all the bitching in the world isn't going to make a difference this year. Yes, it's bad. I get it. I just think the melt is premature. I could be very wrong. If we lose by 30 to UF, then I concede we need to burn it down. I don't think that happens though.

We are 2-1, last season we started 2-1 in 2015 we were blown out 3 games in a row in 2014 we started 3-2 and lost to an 8-5 Auburn team 41-7 (worse than Saturday). We haven't won 10 games in a season since 2013. This is what LSU is now, did you expect him to go 15-0 this season after losing more impact and players in general than any team in the past 20 years his first year on the job? Did Miles or Saban go unbeaten their first year? Did they go unbeaten in any year? You ppl are acting like because we lost a game that he's dropped LSU to an all time low but the truth not only is this the norm now but it's exactly how our last 2 coaches started their first season. I'm not going to tell you why I think he'll get this thing fixed because I know a loaded question when I see one. When you start looking at things realistically then we'll talk about LSU football like adults.

I'm enjoying this thread primarily because it will be comical to watch madking shift as the losses accumulate

Then why did we hire Oregeron to continue the cycle of 8-9 win seasons? Are you agreeing that we are aiming for mediocrity and possibly not even reaching that?

Simple minded? I guess your simple mind never heard of irony. I explained it exactly if you dont understand it maybe try elementary math.
Posted on 9/20/17 at 12:26 pm to ShortyRob
I said it during the miles era.
Every coach has his pumpers that will ride him right to the bottom and never jump off
Miles had them. Dinardo had them. Fulmer had them. Coker had them. They all have them.

Fortunately for me, I continued on to higher level math.

As per usual get away from the facts and use subjectivity to push your narrative.

if our season is comprised of 4 quarters and you're projecting equal results by quarter, than we have to expect teams on the level of what we've played this first quarter. if not, your projection is completely faulty as stated
Posted on 9/20/17 at 12:28 pm to Madking
Madking, your '4 quarters' argument only holds water if all opponents were equal within each quarter. Let's take a look, shall we?
First quarter
Sep 2 BYU W27-0
Sep 9 Chattanooga W45-10
Sep 16 at Mississippi St. L7-37
2-1 record
Second quarter
Sep 23 Syracuse 6:00 pm (ESPN2)
Sep 30 Troy 6:00 pm (ESPNU)
Oct 7 at Florida TBD
Meh, I can see 2-1 and you can argue that this quarter is the same as the first, although none of these are FCS.
Third quarter
Oct 14 Auburn TBD
Oct 21 at Ole Miss TBD
Nov 4 at Alabama TBD
2 of these 3 are better than THE BEST team we played in the first quarter. This is by far the toughest quarter. Not even close to equal.
Fourth quarter
Nov 11 Arkansas TBD
Nov 18 at Tennessee TBD
Nov 25 Texas A&M TBD
This is the 2nd toughest quarter and all 3 teams are better than 2 of the first quarter opponents.
Understand?

As long as we're talking pace, if wet lose to Florida, i wonder if Madking will be talking about our "pace" in terms of SEC record. ROFLMAO

No. But I didn't expect us to lose by 30 to State. And neither should anyone. Becausee that isn't acceptable.
