think our speed can stay with Oregon but ill give the advantage to oregon on speed....we cant base everything off of the Auburn game...that field was a little slippery...both auburn and oregon couldnt grip and that wont be a problem in dallas for either team.

Wasn't the game in a dome?

Yes but players were slipping all over the place.

That was real grass though. If they played in Cardinal's Stadium, that was real.

....I wouldn't mind having a tune up game. Fwiw

FWIW. I mind. Jefferson will be starting and dude plays his best with more than one week to prepare. Let the Ducks work out their problems in Dallas while J. Jeff plays like an MVP.

Synthetic turf will add a speed advantage but Oregon has good speed as well. Damn....this might be a very rough game.

No worries. Defense is the ultimate neutralizer

I think this is the answer. The D should smother and then we can just pound them up the middle.

tigahs play insane on turf.

i would give oregon a minimal speed advantage, but to a man, we have much better size to their speed only philosophy.

LSU has several advantages in the Oregon game. New offense, closer to home, already played on the field against the Aggies and the cream on the top, playing in front of fertile recruiting grounds.

They've lost too many players. It won't be the same as last year. Our offensive line returned 4/5 starters plus our universal backup T-Bob, and their DLine and LBs just about all graduated. Considering their strength will be the secondary and Lsu typically doesn't throw the ball, it's going to be tough for their offense to get on the field.

LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson went 4 of 14 for 102 yards and was crowned starting quarterback. The improved version of Jefferson was not on display in the spring game because of missing faces and a vanilla game plan, but evidently he has improved greatly under new OC Steve Kragthorpe.

Oregon's scheme has given LSU fits for I don't know how many years. If you go back to the games LSU struggled on defense last year, it was a very similar offense. Ole Miss/AU had mobile QBs who spread the field out. That gashed the living hell out of our defense. Darron Thomas should be improved at throwing the ball. They have a good running game too. The middle of our defense is the big question with all the young guys getting plugged in. I'll put money this is where they're going to strike LSU first, right at the DTs/MLB to soften the secondary up.

Univ of Phoenix stadium isn't a dome, btw. It has a retractable roof.

Sat in there during SB 42 and it was open roof and grass.

(yeah, i'm game dropping)

Yeah we have had trouble with the read options but I think we have enough tape and time to figure it out over the summer.

We did fine with WVU as far as defense goes...different style but still a qb that can be mobile and id say geno is a better passer than thomas..and devine matches the speed of rb
