Source tells FootballScoop former UAB staffer Jeremy Hawkins, who recently has accepted the defensive line job at North Alabama, has accepted a position as assistant director of player personnel position on Ed Orgeron’s staff at LSU. Hawkins spent the past three years on Bill Clark’s staff at UAB helping rebuild the program (securing the #1 class in C-USA).

This isn't Ed Orgeron's bait guy from back in Bayou Lafourche is it?

Do you have any information about this guy? I've never heard of him.

googled his name+football. I found a guy that was a DE at Troy who has been an DL coach at a couple different spots.

I don't know if this is the same person.

This role is pretty administrative, so on field coaching experience may or may not be a big deal. In any case, with almost no information about who the guy is or what he will actually do, it's impossible to comment on this as either a good or bad hire.

So he’s Kevin faulk’s assistant? Previously served as defensive analyst at UAB.

Hawkins started his coaching career at Troy University as a graduate assistant in 2010. Following his stint with the Trojans he coached running backs and tight ends at Central Oklahoma in 2011.

So he was hired to break down film on Troy for the next time we play them.

Sorry, had to beat the Christmas rush on that one.
