Sam Pettito is as connected as anyone in player personnel throughout the country. He’s worked at a bunch of places and knows everyone. This hire can’t be overstated.

LSU seems to be putting together a very high level, almost NFL-esque Front Office, getting ahead of everyone else.

A lot of stuff but two main things. 1) Recruiting, scouting and roster retention. 2) Attention to any personal or academic needs of already enrolled student athletes. They basically take care of all things your players need in every aspect.

I questioned the other recent hire when people mentioned how great they were. Not because I thought they were bad but more because I didn't know the history of them 2 guys and wanted some info on their background and what they bring to the table. Now Petitto, even if you casually follow recruiting like me, you know his name and his history. You never know how things work out, but on the surface this is a slam dunk hire.

I just started a thread saying this and then saw this comment almost verbatim. I swear I didn't steal it

Great minds!

Yep. This is the future.

And look, the idea that the coaches can get and keep their arms around all these moving pieces, recruiting, re recruiting the roster every year, NIL, rev sharing, expanded roster and oh by the way academics.....you need a full time non coaching staff.

Good stuff.
