Come to think of it . . . 1959 and 2011 were probably both stolen. That Alabama rematch was a travesty.

Both of those claims have more legitimacy than the 1941 title that The Tahders claim.

Yes. The NCAA recognizes it. LSU doesn’t claim it because Tulane and Grantland Rice….yes the same one, accused LSU of paying Doc Fenton. LSU was later cleared but by the time it happened the season was over.
I honestly don’t know why LSU doesn’t claim it. They were found to not have done what they were accused of and the NCAA recognizes it.
We’re probably the only school that the NCAA recognizes for more national championships than the school actually claims.

There's plenty of historic context in this thread to explain the circumstances that led to not claiming it then, and why retroactively claiming that title would be legit and not necessarily rewriting history. Getting the record corrected (not rewritten) and claiming what is now considered yours is considered a loser mentality?
I guess by your metric, we should forever consider the media and the claims they make AT THE TIME as permanent truths? Just in the last decade we've seen so much of the manipulation and control by media with an agenda that NOT claiming this title should be considered a loser mentality!!!
