after reading the press release & hearing what Kelly said, I don’t see a big conspiracy here. It looks like right after the game, the official game notes were recorded wrong. The big 12 officials corrected the mistake & informed Houston in a letter.

I’m with you that LSU likely knew well before Wednesday & LSU reached out to SEC officials to get clarification on Haulcy’s status. That’s how I’m interpreting this.

It seems completely ridiculous that Houston didn’t tell him he was suspended, but if that’s true and the rest of the stuff laid out is accurate, sounds like Houston is the bad actor more than anybody else in this situation.

Why didn’t we know before? Seems like that would be someone’s job.

Can you not read? It was not recorded as a suspension for fighting. It was listed as unsportsmanlike, which doesn’t carry over to the next season. If only Houston and the Big 12 knew this, how in the frick would we have found out.

I think it’s very likely that Houston leaked this to Clemson to frick with Haulcey, which is a small program move if I’ve ever seen one.

Yes, Brian a Kelly has no responsibility as the head coach to know about possible suspension status of transfer players…. Oh wait. Of course he does. He dropped the ball…as usual. Dude is a clown coach. This will give him an excuse when he shits the bed to open the season again.

It will be from now on.

Someone is going to be assigned to watch the second half of the last game of every potential transfer.

I suspect we will get a response from Houston tomorrow saying otherwise.

Kelly should play the kid the first half

"do something about it" attitude

this is stupid, we're paying players to play football at this stage with unlimited ability to transfer but we're going to write a letter "we upgraded the penality after the season"...

Not the NCAA but the Big 10???????????????

We play in the SEC....playing an ACC team

Maybe he can sit a half if we play a big 10 team?

Until then he plays would be my attitude

States Rights....I mean Conference Rights.

That is a good question and I do not know the answer.

Would have made a huge difference if coaches knew it was a possibility, right? Or maybe, perhaps, definitely, he would have been sitting the first half, regardless. Makes no difference and the best play would have been to not say a word.

Then you are intentionally ignoring pretty much everything that has been released about this incident.

It's abundantly clear that LSU had no idea prior to Wednesday. LSU even said that Clemson reported this incident.

Why would LSU choose to ignore Haulcy's possible suspension and risk the consequences? That doesn't make sense, and it doesn't seem at all like the way Kelly operates.

Some of you are saying that, of course, Kelly and LSU knew.
If they did, why take the chance of it being discovered after the game and the headlines and cries-for-forfeit that would have emerged afterwards?

What would make LSU think the Haulcy incident could be kept secret?
You people that are saying LSU knew have to realize that you're also saying that LSU was dumb enough to think nobody else would find out.

It’s certainly in LSUs benefit to blame someone else for its failure to due due diligence.

What happened with Haulcy is unfortunate. Big 12 recorded it wrong right after the game. Then corrected it and informed Houston via letter.

Kelly said in his press conference that we are working with SEC officials.

I’ve only seen it on message boards as speculation that Clemson went to the NCAA. But this started as a clerical error by the Big 12 & if LSU truly didn’t know until this week, that’s a miss on our compliance department.
