Construction could start late 2011 or late 2012.

However, the addition of a South UD may require LSU to switch to field turf due to more sun blockage.

Not true. There are stadiums that are bigger with real grass.

It all depends on the sun's path late in the season. It won't be a problem early in the season, but October/November could be a problem when the sun's path is lower in the Southern sky.

As long as my damn tickets don't go up, I am okay with it. I don't like the fact of switching turf. unless it is the type of grass.

We could always go to turf trays like is used in Reliant Stadium. TS should never have artificial turf.

A complete waste. Clean everything up on the existing structure first.

Yep, winter sun drop sure screws up my winter garden. Full sun in summer turns to shite come late October.

Too bad. Turf this year was the bomb. I'd hope to repeat performance.

I think that's why their gonna do the South EZ first. Part of the plan IIRC involves extending the roman arches from the rest of TS to the south EZ.

My wifes aunt works for a major athletic turf/flooring company out west. She said LSU contacted them about doing some floor work in some of the athletic facilities and may also look into their turf.

Although it would suck if we had to switch to turf. The grounds crew did a fantastic job on the grass this season. Plus what will Les munch on?

You are SOOOOOooo right. They need to clean up what we have, not worry about adding more. The North east corner where I sit still has the same filthy leaky bhathrooms, there is still almost no choice in concession food and drink, and the sound system still sucks!! Let's fix that before we add on more. I too do not wish to pay more for tickets. We waited 10 years for tickets, now have had them for many years, like our section a lot.If the Tigers do not maintain a winning record, we will not fill up the seats we have. sure, the near future looks good, but are we win a contest to see who has the largest stadium? I am not. I like our stadium, just clean it up and add some nicer, modern facilities.
