LSU football season ticket sales call

After years of being a season ticket holder, I made a decision to not renew my season football tickets this year because of King, Alleva, the loss of the tax deduction, and increased prices.
LSU called this morning and extended the deadline till Friday to make the donation. I'm assuming this may mean that renewals are less than expected.
Did anyone else receive a similar call?

They usually call you before they release them.
I had basketball season tickets and didn't renew one year and they called to make sure I didn't want them.

I didn't get the call but ticket sales were down last year too. Alleva may have something to do with that but ticket sales are down all across the country because ticket prices have skyrocketed. Regular season games in October are starting to flirt with national championship ticket prices just a few years ago.

I got the same phone call yesterday. I have to assume its a simple reminder call in case you forgot, but they did extend the deadline this this year and that is more telling in my opinion that renewals may be a little lower than normal.

The way it's going they are going to price out the family and that's your lifeblood.
TV revenue allows them to do whatever they want as well.
Pretty soon most stadiums will be half empty if it keeps up.

Where were your seats? I'm hoping to upgrade this season.

I don't understand how one can give up their football tickets this year. This year is going to be so much fun. If they fire Wade, basketball is fair game, but football? Nah.

Because 3 of the home games are vs non conference cupcakes...just buy from the secondary market for Auburn Florida and A&M and save your money

It was difficult tp do, but I did not renew my tickets after over 50 years! Had enough of all the crap going on! Sold my tickets to a friend, so no call from the ticket office; but if I had received a call they would have been told why!!!!

Apparently yesterday was TAF ‘Donor Appreciation Day’.. i got a call from a current student athlete thanking me for my donations; that’s a nice gesture, but i’m actually giving up some of my seats this year due to the lack of leadership at the top.. So phone calls are nice, but making wholesale changes are the ONLY way that they will stop the hemorrhaging of donors and season ticket holders.

Uncomfortable seats made of aluminum and made for the average size of a person from the 1950/s instead of the fat asses of today. Cramped bathrooms. No beer in the main sections of the stadium. Paid parking or free parking in BFE. Really bad traffic to and from the game. Bad non-conference foes most years. Big, crystal clear TVs at the house.
I go once or twice a year because I do love the atmosphere of a live sporting event. But it’s a lot more convenient and cheaper to watch it at home. I gave up my tickets 13 years ago, and I don’t regret it one bit.

And lose your seats that I'm sure some of our fans have been sitting in for years upon years? Not worth it.

I think there are legitimate reasons to cancel, and I think all the reasons above that you mentioned are all very legitimate. I just think cancelling because you're mad at Alleva and King is a little silly.
But I also thought the people boycotting the NFL were silly because they didn't like Goodell. Why would you let some moron dictate your participation in something you enjoy is beyond me.

The ticket office calls people who haven't renewed by the deadline every year. They usually give a 1-2 week grace period if you call back and are trying to get the payment in. This in no way has anything to do with "renewals being less than expected." Nice try though
