I’m as excited as anyone about Lane Kiffin’s inaugural season. But…we know that the first loss happens and folks around here are going to be losing their damn minds. I can accept a loss or 2 but personally , I will have a tough time accepting anything less than playoffs - yes it’s year 1 but for what we are paying this staff and players playoffs needs to be the minimum expectation. Am i being unrealistic?

The bar is playoffs. Anything less will be a massive disappointment.

Its ok............Joe Burrow will come back to LSU since there are no rules anymore.

Our OL is better than the Bengals................so come back to college.

F the NCAA and the courts.

What exactly does “not accepting” look like?

The floor should be 9-3 for the first season. There are too many variables and unknowns when replacing half the roster.

LSU will lose 1-2 games and it’s a matter of whether or not they fall in a trap game that plagued Kiffin most of his time in Oxford.

Wins
Clemson
La Tech
McNeese
Kentucky
State
Arkansas

Should win
Ole Miss
Auburn

Toss Up
Alabama
Tennessee

Loss
A&M
Texas

8-4
This years schedule is the hardest ever...
On top of that you have new coaching staff and 65 new players

8-4

I'm willing to give him a year before I expect the playoffs.

I don't want to look incompetent in any game or look like the team is mailing it in.

But I still want to win it all.

The problem is that people will say “playoffs or bust” without defining what that actually means

Imagine if BK was still the coach and 8-4 was considered successful based off the schedule this would not even be entertained. Kiffin should not get different treatment from this board or the fans that demanded 10-2 or 11-1 every season.

Let’s be real, kiffin has gotten double the support BK got. Playoff should be the floor with a 40+ mill roster.

Tbf if our OL is better than the Bengals then we should have no issue making the playoffs.

Like it or not, playoffs are the expectation this season. No expenses were spared when putting this team and coaching staff together. The days of the slow build are over with.

It’s football, not horse racing. There’s more to it than just spend money.

It’s a completely new offense - new players, new OLine, new QB. New offensive coaching staff. Only thing left from last year is the DC. And Harlen
Berry.

I think 10-2 is possible. But, it’s unreasonable to expect 10-2/playoff bound in year 1 rebuild.

BK was in year 4. Kiffin isn’t and it’s a completely new roster and system to most. There is going to be some growing pains that hopefully don’t hurt the team.

They will be fighting for bowl eligibility in Knoxville come November. Nobody is talking their schedule. Could easily go 1-3 in September. Think people, think.

Every year is year 1 now, roster turnover happens every single season. The whole building a roster days are over. You can start a guy every game and he still leaves.

Ole Miss is going to be tough but they better get it done this year because next year NO Chambliss and Lacy.
The Ole Miss Rebs in the know have to realize Frosted Tips Petey is on borrowed time and in 27 will be the fo real results of his Coaching abilities

I think we beat 8&4(revenge), tenn, Old Piss, we either lose to bama or texas, not both, due to that being a rough 2 game stretch. I think the ceiling is 11-1 and the floor is 10-2. Playoffs year 1 under CLK.

The “ just spend money “ approach worked well at Indiana !

2025: 13-0 (Big Ten Champions, Final AP #1)2024: 11-2 2023 : 3-9
