this is most likely what happened. a drunk driver bumped a player after saying something about him.
bzoners boy made a dumb decision in getting involved in it. sometimes trying to be a hero doesn't work out.

Vehicular assault means someone hitting someone with their car intentionally.
That doesn't mean someone wasn't pulled from the vehicle and assaulted.

Nope.
BRPD didn't say a vehicle wasn't involved.
They just said a vehicle wasn't used to assault someone.
In other words, if Bzoner's story is true, the players may be defending themselves by claiming the dude tried to run them over with his truck when they refused to move out of his way.

I've seen tons of fights at the bars at LSU and I have never seen fight where a guy was yanked from his car for minding his own business and then is hero-of-a-friend (also completely minding his own business) got beat up for trying stop it.

Vehicular assult NOT involved means the driver didn't do what supposedly the players are trying to say he did.
