I have been told that the proper etiquette for football players is after breaking someones neck in a bar fight you write them a check with their name on it.
LSU will give this kid a couple bucks or some benefit to just make it go away. Obviously the individual player wouldn't.

I think we can agree that there isn't enough truth to determine absolute fault, but the situation stinks for all parties.

Im glad SOMEONE got it!

is this the biggest thread ever?

Why in the hell are people acting like JJ kicked a fully dressed Oliver North.
Hell, the guy might have just gotten back from bootcamp and some are acting as though he just returned from the battlefield.
I'm an LSU alumni.
I joined the Marines in November 2001. If you think back, maybe you can guess my state of mind.
I went to OCS. Became an officer. Spent 10 years active duty. Deployed twice to Iraq.
I am a passionate LSU fan. The games I managed to catch during the 2007 season, I watched at four in the morning on AFN television from Fallujah. Oddly, one of the happiest years of my life.
Everywhere I go, people want to thank me for my service. They fall all over themselves to thank me for my service.
If the rumors about this Marine named Andrew are true, I'm sure people have fallen all over themselves to thank him for his service, too.
But now, the moment it looks like he might have caused a disruption in the football season, possibly through no fault of his own, he's no longer of any use to you. Everyone who would have been thanking him for his service is suddenly wishing he'd go away.
"Why wasn't he in uniform? I know Marines, and they can be jerks. Why do Marines want special status? Why can't he take his beating like a man and keep quiet." This seems to be the common sentiment.
Even if all of these rumors turn out to be false, even if there isn't a Marine named Andrew, I've still learned something from reading all 200+ pages in this thread. I've learned that I don't have much in common with the average LSU fan anymore.
Enjoy the season. I won't be watching. It pains me to say that, but it's true.

About 300 pages to say JJ is an idiot. You didn't know that before?

you don't think LSU pays people like this alleged victim to be quiet? If you and Rummy truly believe that then both of you are naive as frick.

I know its wafb, but this is bad:

Ten people who claim to have witnessed the incident say LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson then kicked the Marine in the head.

they probably aren't but either way this is going under the rug and being punished in house.
i dont think they just decided to beat four people for the hell of it. something sparked this and it probably went back an fourth the bigger stronger better side just finished it.
they may have started it but i doubt the victims just coward in a corner, they probably were felling brave and said shite back.

Yes. The driver. The driver is claiming to have fractures.
The picture is of the Marine. The Marine is not claiming to have fractures.
This is why it could get really bad. We just have to wait and see. Man this sucks.

no offense, and I appreciate the services of uniformed people, but they deserve no extra benefits or rights than the average teacher, trashman, or line cook as far as the law is concerned IMO.

I honestly don't know. I mentioned earlier in this thread urban meyer was notorious for not suspending players who had been charged with crimes and he won 2 NC. And Les gave RP several chances so if I had to guess id say no suspension based on the info we've currently gotten
