fielding punts inside the 5
So it's not OK to field a punt at the 7 yard line and return it for what may have just been the winning touchdown??

I don't think stating the obvious and pointing out the weaknesses of your own team, makes you any different than any other fan in the S.E.C. or the nation. If you think that the L.S.U. fans perspective is way off, simply look at our local papers and you will read the same things being echoed by the sports writers and national pundits. Is a true L.S.U. fan one who does not observe the obvious, and simply continues to talk about candy rainbows and unicorn milk? Did not L.S.U. net 30 yards of rushing on 32 carries against Miss. State? Did L.S.U. not botch a field goal snap, an extra point, and give up an easy 7 points on a bad punt snap? Should L.S.U. ever need to have a goal line stand to beat the likes of Miss. State? Does it look like L.S.U. is improving from week to week, or does it seem as though they are regressing? Maybe you or one of those guys who do like coach Miles did after this game? "If we don’t play sloppy, if we don’t have miscues in the kicking game, if we don’t do things that leave our opponent right in position to play with us, then this game can be different,” Yes, and besides your husband getting assassinated, how did you enjoy the play Mrs. Lincoln? I don't think fans having legitimate concerns makes them an embarrassment. Perhaps it is those that choose to live in a fantasy world like yours that are!

People think positiger are happy about the performance so far, but we aren't. We are simply glad to be 4-0 (and I have heard some negatigers say they wish we had a loss or two just so they would be proven right already!). The other half of the optimism comes from a deep desire to see lsu win each upcoming week, and having faith that our team puts together loose ends. We don't care about being right, we'd rather risk our pride to see lsu win. Negatigers risk absolutely nothing. If we lose, they are prideful because they are right, if we win they are glad we won. No risk. Do what feels safe I guess.

in general that was a risky play as well, but because the ball was on the ground Chad could see the defenders and knew he had time to field the punt...worst case is we have the ball around the 10 instead of it being downed on the 1. The other play was caught which means he didn't know where the defenders were, more than likely that is a touchback and you minimize the risk of a fumble by letting it go. If the kick ends up on the 1, the punter made a helluva play and that's just the way it goes.

Billy cannon broke his teams rule about fielding inside the 15. He is a legend. And legends never die.

Our fans are not becoming a National embarrassment. LSU fans have been a National Embarrassment for many years prior to this one. Look at it this way--if Joe Fan is obsessing and agonizing over the actions of 18-22 year old amateurs and spewing unfounded criticism, he is likely to make those around him as miserable as he is.

I will never understand how our fans refuse to simply enjoy the unique and remarkable Tiger football experience. This is supposed to be fun--personally, I thought that goal line stand and punt return were fun to watch, some of the best plays I've seen in 50 years of following the Tigers. You sure wouldn't know it by reading all this crap and listening to the talk shows.

Fans of upper tier programs expect a lot, rightfully. Stick your head in here and see what USC fans' reactions are even after a win yesterday. We're no different.

I am fully anticipating that we will loose next week at UGA and if we don't, then I will be pleasantly surprised. Whatever happens, I think somehow we will beat Florida in B.R. the following week. These next 2 games are in the coaches hands, we do have the talent.

If every one of those teams would be 4-0 with LSU's schedule, then why is Southern Cal 3-1 having lost to Washington on the same field that we won?

Sorry I was gone for a while, but when LSU goes on the road to beat Ohio St, and then the very next week travels to Washington while playing without their #1 QB, let me know.

It is true that most of the positigers are old school. So what do expect them to think. They lived through the mediocre days and don't care how bad lsu plays just as long as there mediocre. If we had all Saints players on the LSU team and we still did not perform. They would still have same exact excuse. Most of them are blind.

Look, everybody agrees that the team is not performing well - predominately on offense -- The Wizard is not wizzing and needs to modify his play calling to get our athletes in space and take some risks. However, we have a chance for a good them, and many of you negatigers have given up and are acting like the season is over. It is not over.

As long as Miles is on the sidelines with his play sheet and headphones overturning Crowten's plays, you can forget this happening.

7...are you insane....i doubt seriously anybody outside of tiger nation is reading the rantings of a small handful of passionate fans...the national media has not put out an amber alert for LSU's lost support of this team...get real...
this is a bitching board for people to vent in case you havent figured it out...thats what we do best here in tigerland...doesnt mean anyone is jumping ship...so pull your head out of your arse for a second and take a deep breath.

...But fans complaining about other fans complaining about other fans is even worse! It's almost as bad as fans complaining about other fans complaining about other fans complaining about other fans.

It isn't that we don't care how bad LSU plays, it's just that we understand that it is unreasonable to expect even an upper tier program to be "dominant" every single year. I am content that we are winning even if everything is not perfect. If we lose to UGA, I'll deal with that when we come to it. If we get blown out by UF, then I'll deal with that then. If our team and coaching is as bad as many on here suggest, then clearly we should be excited just to be 4-0 at this point.

Yes, we were 4-0 last year and ended up with a poor record. But we were also 4-0 in 2007 where nearly every game came down to the end, and we found a way to win. The tigers will keep fighting to the end, and I will be right there with them!

Huh?

First four games of 2007:

LSU 45, Mississippi State 0
LSU 48, Va. Tech 7
LSU 44, Middle Tennessee 0
LSU 28, South Carolina 16

That's coming down to the end?
