All one of you has to do is put your money where your mouth is, and say we'll be in the playoffs next year. Even the most dedicated propagandist, Space Cowboy, won't do it.
That doesn't really make sense.
Someone would simply need to be willing to take LSU over ANY of the teams listed in the OP. Are you willing to make that bet?

10-2 would be a GREAT year next year...borderline playoff. Your level of satisfaction is way over the top.
My level of satisfaction is way over the top?
My level of satisfaction is one game better than Les Miles’ average (9 wins).
How the hell is expecting one more win than the average of the coach that got FIRED considered “over the top?”
Moving goalposts much?

They don't want those types of expectations for Orgeron to be solidified, because they have no real excuse when he doesn't live up to it.
We haven’t been a playoff contention program since 2011. If CLM was still our coach we wouldn’t be on that list. Don’t let being ranked for the first ever playoff poll foolyou our program hasn’t been great in 6 years.

Nah, misplaced hostility for Bee and LNCHBOX because Miles is gone... can't hero worship Orgeron like they did with the previous coach.
This is retarded.

How many different threads do I need to rip apart this lie in? 2012 we were a play away from beating Bama and a possible BCS berth. 2015 we were undefeated going into November and ranked in the first playoff ranking. Unless your definition of being in contention is looking back in hindsight and seeing we weren't one of the final teams, you're just spewing bullshite.

I guess you don’t read so well since I said despite being ranked in the first ever cfb playoff poll...what’s been our highest ranking since 2011?

You bring up since 2011 and playoffs, ignoring rhat the playoffs weren't a thing until 2014. You're a clown.

First of all, he didn't get fired because of his record. He was the winningest coach we've ever had. His overall win average wasn't the problem. He was fired for his inability/stubbornness related to the offense and the decline of the program over his final 2-3 years. In other words, the future didn't look as bright as his entire tenure here. This should have been obvious to you, but apparently your analysis only goes as deep as the win, loss record.
Secondly, it's over the top because you are looking at it in a vacuum. Next year's schedule is very strong. I'd estimate that going 10-2 next year would give LSU about a 50% shot of making the playoffs. I'd say there is an 80% shot that it would be the highest rated 2 loss team...and this is a team that will be breaking in a new QB, a new RB, and probably a new OC.
You are basically EXPECTING Oregon to be a "coach of the year" type of coach next year.

Some of us can see details beyond the win loss record to evaluate the performance of a coach. Both your evaluation of why Miles was fired and why 10 wins is a reasonable expectation next year show that you aren't capable of that.

I’m not seeing next year’s schedule in a vacuum. I know it’s tough like the 2011 schedule was. 9-3 or worse regular season will not be a success next year just because the schedule is tough. Otherwise you have to call this year a complete failure because the schedule was weak.
Miles was absolutely fired as a result of his record. He fell off after 2011 to 9 wins average. His philosophy is the reason that happened, but if he still won at the same rate as pre-2012, he’d still be here.
O doesn’t get to be worse than Les.
If you can’t comprehend this, I don’t know what to tell you.

The program hasn’t been elite since your hero embarrassed the program on 1-9-12. Quit trying to make your hero look better than what he was. We finished 12, 14, NR, and 17 in his 4 full yrs since the 21-0 embarrassment. Now tell me how relevant we’ve been since 2012 other than being ranked in the first ever playoff poll (then losing 3 straight sec games)

We were on basically every list like this when Miles was here.
I am not arguing that he should still be the coach. It is just strange to me that the argument was always that Miles was the only thing holding LSU back from Bama-like success and now the narrative is that we should accept 9-3 seasons because the team "looked different"

Huh? You are expecting a 10 win season. I assumed you were looking at the record in a vacuum because only an absolute idiot would EXPECT next year's LSU team to end up 10-2. Hope? Sure. Think it's possible? Absolutely. Expect? Dumb. Oregon could do every single thing right and possibly not end up with 10 wins next year.

No he wasn't. He had a higher winning percentage than Saban did at LSU. He was fired for the direction of the program.

Orgeron should be evaluated based on the direction of the program and the likelihood of success moving forward. If we go 9-3 next year but we are seeing the QB situation get ironed out and recruiting situation return to the top, all signs would indicate success moving forward. It's hilarious to evaluate things solely on the win loss record during a single season.

......that's literally being considered a playoff contender, elite, whatever you want to call it.

Whatever you're smoking (or drinking), share it with the rest of us. If we were to win a National Championship with o as the head coach, he would not be "vilified" by any of the so called "o haters", whoever the frick they are.
You on the other hand...........

Oh yeh 2015...started 8-0 how did that end for us?? Oh yeh 3 straight sec losses capped off with a 17-0 shutout vs Ark...were you in a coma in November of 15?

You just said we weren't considered elite at any time since 2011. I just pointed to a piece of evidence that directly refutes that assertion.
Posted on 12/27/17 at 1:42 pm to Topwater Trout
His hatred of Coach O has triggered an early onset dementia process.
Posted on 12/27/17 at 1:43 pm to BeeFense5
I’ve never said 9-3 is what we should strive for as a program but I also have never said going 9-3 is unacceptable...I don’t expect any coach to win 10+ games every year when competing in the sec West and having to play Bama every year.
