Being under some pressure is NOT the same as being fired. Not even close. Miles was “under pressure” for 2 1/2 years before he was fired.

This whole thread is based on a straw man argument. The OP is making predictions set in stone for this season based on something that didn’t happen last year. Do we not think the portal approach to this season would have been a LOT different if we hadn’t gone to Omaha and Jay and the staff hadn’t been focused on winning a title? We likely have a very different team right now if that were the case. This entire thread is nothing but bullshite.

Your bullshite gets more ridiculous the longer you stay at this. Orgeron That’s your argument? He went from the best team in school history to .500 and no bowl game and he played a large role in that by making terrible hires that exacerbated the issues. And his hires the next year were just as bad. Orgeron also had a previous HC stint in the SEC that looked very much like 20 and 21. He regressed to his mean and everyone here knew it.

Jay’s mean is making Omaha at Arizona There is absolutely no comparison to be made here.

and we won the baseball tile in 23 then went 13-17 in the SEC….How is that compared to .500 in the SEC?

I’d contend even with his second national title Jay would have a very tough time survive 3 years and no supers .

and was 1 out from hosting a super…. Again this is a dumb argument your making comparing Johnson to Orgeron.

I’m not comparing Orgeron to Jay. I’m pointing out winning a title doesn’t provide you much of a safety net at a school like lsu. That’s been proven by multiple schools not just us

Why does this tard keep talking about 3 years in a row of no super regional? Did one of the voices in his head argue the other side?

It’s all bullshite conjecture by the OP, but it’s still utter nonsense. Jay has been to Omaha at 2 different schools and won one title (in this straw man world of the OP). He’s been to the postseason every year, which is not comparable to a .500 year bowl game in college football. He got the most possible out of the 24 team and we’ve seen even better LSU teams than last year’s under both Skip and Paul crash out early, which falls in line with the OP’s mythical 25 ending.

No one is getting fired this season with this overall record. Orgeron and Miles were fired because it no longer looked possible for them to achieve their top-end success. Jay’s record doesn’t show that.

You are correct. In baseball anything can happen in a weekend.

we made the postseason at 13-17 in the SEC finishing tied 6th in conference standings

Yes, that is the equivalence of 4-4 in SEC in football finishing 6th in the SEC

please find me a coach that’s been run out of town for winning multiple titles and was fired the next 10 years.

You think coming off 2 regional losses and then looking like we currently do would any single person feeling good about where we could be going?

The entire point is last year changed everything. If those 4 innings go differently there is no fricking way you or anyone would currently be saying the future looks bright

Perhaps, but we have talented guys making little mistakes. Passed balls, walks, errors, poor base running, etc. is the alarming thing.

We can play better just by throwing strikes and making plays in the field. By taking good ABs and moving up base runners with less than two outs.

again playing your little stupid hypothetical game the roster probably isn’t the same as it now because the staff has more time in the portal instead of playing for a championship. Believe it or not playing for championship puts you at a disadvantage with top portal guys.

they didnt get one top 15 player last year, 1 in the top 30. Lost Landon Mack to Tennessee, Advincula to GT, Rezleman to UCLA, Volchako to UGA. It was a solid class on paper but far from dominated.

FIFY.

Seriously, when BK was getting shite canned, these guys were wanting to canonize JJ and KM… same fools now saying they’re both terrible. It’s quite the show!

Football is a whole different animal, look at basketball, McMahon didn't win shite and he's still here as of now. Baseball and Jay would have some leeway. The delusional fans would want him fired maybe but even with the one championship, he'd be ok with the administration.
