After a shitty final season at Florida St and leaving that program in shambles what is going to happen to aTm if they finish out the season with losses to LSU and Auburn combined with a bowl loss (7-6), will they cut the cord on the Fisher experiment or hang on and let him continue aTm spiral to the bottom of the SEC?

I dont Think they care about the FSU season.

You probably give the guy with the enormous buyout more than 1 year to change a shifty culture before firing him.

I think the offense would be much better with Fisher. Much.

This is so weird to me.

Orgeron had some terrible games in his first year, but he's shown strength as the leader of LSU in his second season. Fisher doesn't get two years to demonstrate improvement?

In Orgeron's first year, he lost to Troy, got BTFO by Moo State, lost to Alabama and Notre Dame. In Fisher's first year, he's lost to Clemson, Alabama and Moo State.

I understand it to an extent: Jimbo Fisher and Tom Herman will forever be benchmarks for LSU while Orgeron is the head coach.

Personally, the 'new coach' who scares the hell out of me is Dan Mullen at Florida...

It absolutely blows my mind that top notch talent has been, and will continue to sign up to play for shitty arse A&M

You think Fisher could have worked some magic with Narcisse or J-Mac? Burrow isn't coming to play back-up QB for Fisher and Brennan isn't stupid. He wouldn't stay to see whether Fisher would give him a shot.

are they the laughing stock of the country paying $75 mill for this clown? Even makes coach kissie face look like a decent hire if that is even possible. Thank God we wound up with Coach O.

Why do people compare programs like they're equal?

See, those games weren't Orgeron's fault though.

Yeah, I get tired of the double standards.

double standard is hilarious. He has a legitimate rebuild I had the opportunity to keep miles DC and didn’t have to change the entire culture. Jimbo is starting from scratch and has done a good job so far.

He did leave FSU in shambles. Look at it. He knew they were in bad shape and bailed.

Of course you Jimbo lovers will ignore the last year Jimbo was there which was a 6-6 year and don't give him any credit for the current situation at FSU. Then you blame Sumlin for the status at A&M while saying you gotta give Jimbo time. Or, wait until Jimbo gets his QB in at A&M. Can you say double standard?

Curley Hallman wouldn't go 6-6 in the ACC at Florida State.

Will revisit this thread next sunday after the aTm loss to Auburn.

LSU most likely has a loss too. I don't know how the game is going to go, but our passing game is still meh. We need more than zero points to win. It's just going to make you look stupid bitching about another teams coach while ours takes a loss too.

LSU is going to surprise one Hell of a lot of people this Saturday.

By the way, it makes you look stupid when LSU at worst is 7-2 vs the toughest schedule in the country and A&M will be 5-4.

You are an idiot if you think Fisher will be a bad coach at A&M, this is his first year with crappy players. Give him time and he will start trending towards the top every year in the West

Yep, NCAA investigations when a player rats you out is always good for a college program. When you need a culture change there is no faster or better way than to have the NCAA snooping around for improprieties. He's doing great work in this regard for sure.

Recruiting since 2015 according to 24/7:

2015:
FSU ranked 3rd with 20 commits.
A&M ranked 11th with 27.

2016:
FSU ranked 3rd with 25 commits.
A&M ranked 18th with 21.

2017:
FSU ranked 6th with 24 commits.
A&M ranked 13th with 27.

2018:
FSU ranked 11th with 21 commits.
A&M ranked 17th with 23.

So it is clear Jimbo had no talent at FSU which is why he went 14-10 in his last 3 seasons and is bottom of the barrel in talent at A&M.

Didn't look at Mississippi State's rankings but I'm sure it was much better than A&M's. Jimbo lost to a superior team this past weekend.

I guess part of his allure is that he actually got that Heisman QB, along with a couple others that he put in the NFL. And he's transformed Mond from hot garbage into serviceable.

That heisman qb would've looked a lot different in the sec my friend

Fisher is a good coach. He will win at an Arburn/LSU clip, but he is no Saban killer. Fisher at LSU for 10 years would not have been good come year 6 or 7 when his act get old and we keep him a year or two too long cuz of his contract. The Aggies needed him more that we did. They will be more willing to pay him to leave than be stuck those last few years of his deal. Its a good deal for them, but not us.

I’d love to know why thinking a guy is a good coach makes one a “lover” of that coach or why thinking a coach isn’t as good makes uouna “hater” just stupid lazy arguments. Anywho 6-6 was a bad season. What else is there to say?

quote:

don't give him any credit for the current situation at FSU

Well he’s not coaching there. Did he leave less talent than we thought? Apparently, so he should take some blame for that, so what’s your point?
Urban Meyer left a mess at Florida, has that affected his performance at Ohio State?
There were also some other issues, FSU was apparently not giving the administrative support he needed especially to keep up with Clemson

The only thing I blame Sumlin for is his mediocrity. He does run a different style and recruited to that style which is different from what Fisher wants to run, so yes he will need a recruiting class or 2 to get his guys. Are you suggesting we should judge a guy mid way thru year 2 after a loss?

Yeah good try, but that is absolute bullshite.

Jimbo was 5-6 (3-5) when he left FSU. FSU had to then reschedule ULM (cancelled earlier because of the hurricane) to get to 6 wins and be eligible for a bowl game.

BUT FSU was very limited by three top 10 recruiting classes in a row (3rd, 3rd and 6th) so it was NOT JIMBO's fault. Nobody could win in the ACC with shite players like that.
