Jimbo is a good coach who will make A&M better than what they have been, but he’s not Saban, Meyer, or Sweeney like people wanted to make him out to be. I’m more concerned with Mullen at Florida.

Mullen is the second best coach in the SEC.

There is no legit reason to believe anyone will ever be Saban.
A&M gave Fisher what it took to get the guy they wanted.
There is no legit reason to overreact to every game. Whether Fisher, Herman or O will prove to be right or wrong hires will tell over time

True. He'll need to recruit very well to maintain that program though.

You could also mention that if not for Jamies (a player with questionable character at the very least) Jimbo would not have that “championship on the wall”

I love this excuse from Jimbo haters. You could also mention who recruited and developed Jamies

Same things were said on this board about Urban Meyer at Florida.

Nice cherry pick, dick cheese.

You gonna tell me Gene Chizik is a good coach. There are a lot of similarities with the 2.

The Saban “coaching tree” is very overrated. I’m glad we didn’t get sucked into it personally. I would have loved to get Mullen, though.

He should be forced to win with the substandard roster he inherited? Or should they at least wait until he can get a recruiting class or two of guys he likes?

These “thank God we didn’t” get JF or TH memes are idiotic, sophomoric and replete with recency bias.

Comparing Coach A with a d-list roster to Coach B with an a-list roster is apples to oranges. Just stop and enjoy what we have and stop worrying about what they have or haven’t grown into yet.

So year 1 is to early to call Jimbo a bust but you had no problem running Coach O down day 1. Makes sense.

With FSU being a dumpster fire and Richt underachieving at Miami, Mullen should be able to recruit Florida well and nab some other big time regional recruits.

You can’t make chicken salad out of chicken shite.

People were calling for Orgeron and Alleva’s heads after the Troy loss.

All the Ed O haters in this thread have turned into clairvoyants and are now predicting future failure for Ed because this season's results just don't fit their narrative and they've had to re-spin their hatred towards him.

The irony here is stunning. The only predictions here are insecure O backers predicting failure Fisher and or Herman.

Cherry pick? The irony and lack of self awareness by some of you is stunning. You are the cherry picker you fricker of goats.

Fisher recruited and signed Winston out of HS. He was a 5* sure but how many 5* have busted? Fisher coaches him for 3 years, he was JWs only college coach. And let’s cherry pick the fact he also coached JaMarcus Russell, EJ Manuel and Christian Ponder who were all first round picks.

Newton was also a 5* recruited and signed by Urban Meyer, he played for UM for 2 years then spent a year in JuCo before Chiz signed him for 1 year at Auburn.

In 8 years at FSU Fisher had 2 years with less than 10 wins and 1 of those he won 9 and his last he was 5-6, though team finished 6-6. Chiz on the other hand in 6 years had only 1 year with more than 8 wins and 3 (half his time as a HC) with less than 4. His 3-9 year at Auburn is their only losing season since 1999.

So no, they are not remotely the same just because both had special QBs. Fisher recruited and developed his, Chiz signed his from JuCo

Not all first years are the same. Fisher was taking over a program that was actually mediocre from a coach with a very different style. They had no TEs for example. LSU was in much better shape under Miles. We were told it was just a matter of getting the right coach given the talent we had, you also will note Fishers losses are to #2 Clemson, #1 Bama and by 15 at MSU. Not 30 at MSU and to Troy

He’s good but not worth that kind of contract. I look for them to be a 8/10 win team year in year out.
