How do you give up 400+ yards passing to a Big East opponent and expect to win the SEC West?
Are you really THAT stupid?
Please tell me you realize WVU runs a very unique, well executed 95% passing offensive scheme. They have a good QB and quick/fast WRs who do well in space. There is no SEC team that runs anything close to that. In fact, I'd LOVE to see Bama try to use this as the "blueprint" to beat LSU's D. Freakin laughable.
You sir, have proved to be an idiot when it comes to football.

Plenty of sloppy tackling and dropped ints to fix.
i wonder how many of gino's passes over ten yards were completed as opposed to attempted .it seemed to me when he wasnt dinking and dunking he was terribly innaccurate

Because I have seen Bamas offense.

Does it not scare the devil out of you guys that your secondary looked so suspect? No flame intended...I'll hang up and listen
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt since you claimed you are not flaming. The secondary played perfect, it was the lack of pass rush that caused WV to put up yards. You cannot cover guys one on one and give the QB ample time to throw. The secondary did not give up the big play, kept everything in front of them.
I'm more worried about the DLine getting a pass rush then the secondary.

A three step drop is the easiest type of pass to stop
damn you are just plain dumb gump. Yeah, tell that to guys trying to defend drew brees.

Anyone that throws the ball 65 times is probably going to end up with a lot of yards. 4 turnovers was the price WVU paid for all those yards and we won by 4 tds because of it.
+ the 5-6 dropped INT's.
He had many second chances as well.
Coulda, shoulda, woulda.
But I like this. I like that Alabama fans seem to think that this defense has lost a step or is not as good as LSU's defense is in actuality. You guys go ahead and keep thinking that "they're just not as good as we thought."
I'm hoping the team thinks the same thing.

Hey hoyt, I bet you any amount of money you want.
You think our DB's are slacking, I bet you your gump team don't throw for over 400 yds against us when we play.
STFU or put your money where your mouth is...
Better yet, don't put the money in your arse.....

your corners must be slacking over there
Claiborne and Simon will be first round picks; Mathieu gets drafted but I don't have a clue which round. At safety, Reid will be a first rounder with Loston and Taylor going in later rounds. I feel just fine about the LSU secondary.

quote:This. Missed tackles were the only problem I saw. We played a very different defensive scheme INTENTIONALLY designed to eliminate what WVU lives on: the big play. It worked, we won BIG. Hoyt wins the fantasy football game and earns the right to flame.
It was a "keep everything in front of you" scheme. They chew up the clock having to dink and dunk down the field
Here's a stat for you Hoyt: our shitty <112 ranked offense beat your immovable D last year. Our D is better than last year. Our O is light years better than last year.
Enjoy your fantasy football win.

Even if you were right which you aren't every team has a bad day and maybe that was just a bad day for the tiger def. I will take a bad day when we win by 26 points though. If ya'll find an off that is as good as WVU's between now and nov I think ya'll will be fine.

you may get away with it now and then, but it will cost you one or two big games.
I suppose you arrived at this after a proper analysis of the game - which probably factored in the point differential, batted down passes, fumbles, interceptions, tackles for loss, game plan of the opponent, concentration on passing / running game with the final point being that all these were only parts of the sum which was to win the game.
If we gave 400 yards rushing and stopped them each time at the goal line - there would be wide spread praise from our fans and the world for formulating a wonderful plan to bend but not break and win the game.
But since Passing is more flashy - the D now seems questionable though they did everything that was asked of them.
If any coach were asked if they would take 1 TO for every 50 yards - guess what the answer would be.

kinda crazy when your defense has a bad day and you win by 26

I hate it when old school Bama fans start parroting Oregon and other stat-obsessed schools. It's embarrasing.
We just beat a high octane, gimmicky, nearly indefensible if executed correctly "Texas tech-type" offense by 4 tds on the road, and we have all these Finebaum sycophants on our board spouting cliches....
Your time will come Gump.
Until then, GTFO.

i predict 2 or 3 picks in ala game

Well I'll be honest and say it scares me, especially for the Arkansas game. Obviously Tyler Wilson is not as mobile as Geno Smith, but they are as inventive.

Guess it also doesnt matter that we held them to only 70 yards rushing....
Like it was said before If any Competant QB is throwing the ball 65+ times in a game the likelyhood of them having gaudy #'s throwing is gonna happen along with plaenty of mistakes...
Throwing it that much shows desperation...
It would be a bad day if JL was throwning more than 20 or 30 times in a game...

honestly i don't care we held them to 21 pts and they are a legit passing team hardest thing in the world to stop is the short passing game plus i would like to see how many yards they had past the 50 yd line cause they were starting inside the 10 all night long it seemed like
