Cam Newton inelligle (possible)
Auburn still elligible (definite)

This thread (sorry)

Just kidding.... I like your thinking but even if Cam inelligible they dont vacate wins immediately.

Took NCAA 5 years on Reggie Bush it isn't going to take them 2-3 weeks on Cam Newton
in no way are these 2 cases comparable

Understood, but what I'm saying is that it's more likely that Cam doesn't play than it is Auburn gets reprimanded 'NOW'. Any dumbass knows that if Cam is proven to have done everything, then Auburn is in probably more trouble than he is.

I'm pretty certain on the Cam/LSU winning parts.

State beating Arky is sketchy.

We'll likely have to take care of business in Little Rock.

LSU is the front runner for the SEC West. Make no mistake.

Win out and it will be hard to keep us out of the BCSNCG.

Who would have thought it?

You're just flat out wrong. It's ok to admit that from time to time.

Um, no. If he is declared ineligible in time, none of their wins while he was playing for them will count.

wont happen. nothing is happening before the SECCG.

Auburn will play S Carolina. period. end of story.

something may happen before the BCSNCG however.

personally, I'd like to see Auburn go undefeated and it revealed that no wrong doing happened. We are not better than Auburn and dont deserve to be in SECCG or BCSCG. If he took $, that in no way made him better like he was taking HGH or something to improve his athleticism.

Who really wants to back into a SEC champ game or BCS NC game???

LSU is certainly better than a Newtonless Auburn.

A team most certainly gains a competitive advantage on the field by paying players.

If they played an ineligible player, their team was basically on steroids. It definitely improved the athleticism of the Auburn team. We could have dressed out a bunch of professional athletes and beat Auburn. Had Cam not been on the team, I like our chances.

ETA: We backed into the BCSCG in 2007, and it didn't bother me at all. I'll back into championship games every year and be a happy fan.

Bottom line is that the NCAA won't act quick enough for that to happen.

What no one is talking about is that it is in neither the NCAA's nor the SEC's best intrest to decide quickly on this matter. With all the media buzz surrounding this they are looking at possibly all time highs in ratings which equals BIG MONEY. Once the season is over and all the money is tallied they will make a decision and everyone will be over being pissed that it took so long by the time the next season rolls around. By then they will have picked a new media darling to drool all over.

The only way Cam Newton will be ineligible is if Auburn declares it themselves. No way the NCAA acts that fast on anything. FWIW, Auburn's already this deep into the season with Cam playing, why would they pull him now. They're gonna ride it out to the end of the season. Then take the beating from the NCAA in the off-season.

I guess it would be fitting if Auburn won a BCS championship and heisman trophy with an ineligible player since they lost out to Bush's USC team in 2004.

I'd say there's about a 50% chance it happens.

It took the NCAA 5-6 years to make a ruling on Reggie Bush and there seemed to be more substantial evidence in that case. What makes you think the NCAA would get it together in a week or two for Cam?
Dream on.

Sadly, I think this is right. Money is key and not just for Cam and his father. With all the media surrounding Newton, the ratings for that game will be huge and they don't want to risk that... It's sad, but that's what will happen. It will never be said publicly but here is your winner
