If we don’t plan to adjust, absolutely.

Remember the last two times LSU beat Bama, Bama got the ball first and walked down the field and then turned the ball over: Tua just dropped the ball while running and Young threw a pick in the end zone.

Take the ball first and run trickery to take an early lead

The benefit of going D first (other than the possibility of back to back possessions) is that if you can force a three and out, you end up with great field position.

And the negative is that if we go three and out, after Bama scores on the first drive, we could be down two TDs. Suck and you’ll lose; it does not matter who receives.

And that idiotic trope about scoring twice in a row around halftime is meaningful only to the same people who are AMAZED that if, after your birthday, you subtract your age from the year you get the year you were born.

Defer..LSU needs to score first and stay ahead to have a chance. Bama must play from behind all night and hopefully LSU distance themselves in the fourth and wins going away.

This should be the game we defer but Kelly seems to like to start the game with the ball.

Yeah, but 3 games skewed that a bit, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and FSU. Arkansas and Ole Miss in particular, both had a drive that mostly occurred in the third ending in a score early in the fourth.

4th Qtr Scoring

FSU 21

Grambling 0

Miss State 7

Ark 15

Ole Miss 21

Mizzou 7

Auburn 8

Army 0

If you look at the second half scoring, though, you can see that it evens out a bit.

2nd Half Scoring

FSU 31

Grambling 0

Miss State 7

Ark 18

Ole Miss 24

Mizzou 14

Auburn 11

Army 0
