Is a center

And we're one game into this season, way too early to predict of next season's line

And JD held the ball longer than any QB in the SEC so this excuse that he had zero time to throw is breaking apart as the facts start to come out.
Which also means saying that he was taking off and running far too soon is breaking apart too.

The kid had a 74% completion! He was the only reason we were in the game at all. Boutte is a selfish player that needs to go! Bitches about targets but at the goal line the ball was right there but his head was in his arse! If the attitude does change let him go

LT and center held up for true freshmen. Both made mistakes, but not bad for their first games. That had to be tough.

Lots of moral victories. I would rather be 1-0 vs a 5 year losing season FSU

Dellinger and Frazier were great. Campbell at times looked good and bad. Not really sure on Bradford. Wire just got flat out exposed and played undisciplined as well.

If he is one of the top 5 next season he will play. And yes, it is way too early, which is why I used the word "might".

Because a line is only as good as its weakest link and advanced metrics in football are interesting, but not very useful.

They should stop counting when he tucks it, and he tucks it quickly when he senses the line hasn’t protected him. If so, then I would think some of the scrambling QBs would have longer ball hold times.

Don't you know that people love dwelling on the negatives? That's our society in a nut shell!

Positives from game:

Dellinger will only get better
We held FSU to 132 yards rushing
We had plenty of gas left in the tank late in the 4th Q. Unlike last years team that was sucking for air in the first half
Once Daniels settles down he will be an extremely dangerous QB

Daniels has to recognize the outside blitz and check out of those downfield passes. Either call a hot route or check into an inside run. It’s not all on the center when we have 5 to block 6. Also Wire got abused at RT. I’d be interested to see our Tackles grades.

This is a good point. The meerkat bullshite is gone now. Kelly and Denbrock have been clear that they expect their QBs to adjust the protection, play and reads pre-snap, so it is on Daniels to make that call based on what he sees out there.

This is a good point. The media has been raving about FSUs three headed monster at RB all week and the D was able to consistently get them in third and long all game long. Sadly, they were able to convert those at will in the passing game.

The bad snap likely prevented a TD but overall he was much better than what we've seen from Shanahan the last two seasons
The middle wasn't getting blown up

The problem was RT and Wire is not the answer as a senior
Maybe put Bradford out at RT and roll with Jones at G as a fr

I know everyone was bitching about how much time we were taking on the next to last drive, but we EXECUTED. The offense definitely did on the last drive, with multiple players showing a lot of poise under fire. That’s a good sign of overall organization taking hold out there.

Now they need to bring that to Special Teams, because it was the opposite of clutch most of the night.

The "If" and I know about if this and if that, but the bottom line is again, FSU had a warm up game which regardless of how you want to look at it is huge! If, we could have gotten off the field on a few of those 3rd downs. If, our special teams wasn't anything but special, the outcome of that game is completely different!

It's not like no matter what would or could have happened we couldn't have won that game no matter what! A LOT of self destruction!

Did you see Bradford’s pass pro score in the 20s? He’s a run blocker (and had a decent score there) and is a better fit at one of the guard spots at his size.

For sure. I think I'd rather see Frazier at RT.

Campbell, Shorts, Delly, Bradford, Frazier

If Bradford struggles again, I think we will really see Jones.

Don’t discount Dumerville either. He played decently when forced into action last season and is listed as the backup at both tackle spots. Wire likely got the nod due to his experience, but I could see him getting a look at RT this week.

I’m sure we will see Jones at Guard this week once we’re ahead. I wouldn’t be shocked if the staff eventually can’t keep him off the field.

For a person playing center for the first time ever, I though he did very well. Still some work to do, but all he needs is experience and he might make bank in the NFL.
