LSU can learn how to execute a screen pass from watching the Patriots

IF.... LSU can ever learn to execute a screen pass successfully they will be unbeatable IMHO. The New England Patriots are the best at executing. It looks to me like the running backs are giving it away too early and not fooling the linebackers at all. I know they can execute better than what they have been doing so far this season. Just watch film of the Patriots games. Good luck.

Also works best when a team is blitzing heavily.

It’s a lot harder than it looks

Saints are the best screen team in the NFL

Even when the RB is open Burrow can’t get rid of it quick enough, off target, sack, fumble, etc.
It’s pretty tragic thus far.

frick the Patriots. Saints are the absolute king of the screen. If they can learn the screen from anyone, it’s the Saints.

+1. Brees is the best! I was referencing more from running back perspective. Burrow could do better as well. It's a major weapon if executed properly. I think we'll need it against better defenses moving forward. Moo State is legit. Ala. is Ala. AtM apparently has turned the page defensively as well. Just thinking out loud.

They already observed Saints and Rams practices this summer. If they aren't doing it get, I would tend to believe that they either don't want to or don't think the players are capable.

It just seems to me that the screen is set up to be in an area of too much congestion. Not enough separation between the QB and the LOS where the defenders are. Maybe try to set up the screen out in the flat.

There’s also the aspect of the o-linemen releasing and getting out in front. From snap to end of play the lineman has to sell the “whiff” disguise the release, and find a body. All without the common mistake of holding, or blocking in the back, or getting in the way of the pass.
We have a young inexperienced line, that’s shuffled a ton.

Wouldn't knock any current players. It's almost like we have been cursed in producing a nice screen.

Playing musical chairs because of injuries on the line doesn't help. We have had a few successful screens this year though

There was two guys down the highway named Payton and Brees, don't know if they still reside there are not. Google Maps search NFL career passing leader you might find them.

The Saints are the gold standard of screen passes. You don't know anything

They can put together a little video of the screen passes LSU has tried this year. Ask Sean or Brees to take a look at it for them and make suggestions for what they can do to get better at it. The end
