2 season openers in the last 3 years in that stadium.

I don't see how Wisconsin happens
The only way its Wisky is if MSU beats OSU.
MSU to the Rose and OSU to the Sugar leaves Wisky to the Outback. Now If OSU beats MSU. A MSU/LSU matchup seems likely.

Cotton Bowl CEO
quote:
Baker on significance of hosting Steve Spurrier at the Cotton Bowl:
“Coach Spurrier makes it special. We’ve had many, many hall of fame coaches over the years coach in the Cotton Bowl, and there’s certainly no doubt coach Spurrier will be a hall of famer someday. We would be very proud to have coach Spurrier coach in our game. Things just never worked out that way in the past. That’s why we’ve been a little more optimistic this year that there might be more of a chance than what we’ve normally had. We want a good, compelling matchup”
Baker on matchup between South Carolina and Big 12 opponent:
“We’ve got some good options, we believe, on the Big 12 side. We’re still looking at four teams on the Big 12 side, just depending on how things fall — Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas and Baylor. Oklahoma State and Baylor are ranked in the top 10, I think, and Oklahoma’s right there in the top 20. Certainly Texas is Texas. If they have a good finish to their season, they’ll certainly be ranked up there. A lot of storylines with any of those teams. Stoops and Spurrier on Oklahoma. You’ve got certainly Oklahoma State and coach Gundy and their program, and Baylor and certainly Mack Brown and coach Spurrier. There’s a lot of different storylines just depending on how things work out. We’re certainly excited about our options, and the possibilities.”

That's not true. Anything from Dec. 1st on can be considered "up-to-date", which they were all updated on dec 1-3.

It sounds like the Outback is saying that they don't want SC, but it still seems like the Cap One may jump on them first. 10-2 SC seems like a better draw than 11-2 Mizzou.
Although we may still end up in the Outback in that scenario.

I'll be pissed if we play Outback
only twice since '99 has lsu played in a bowl that was not in dallas, atl or nola. both exceptions were in Orlando. that's so stale. it's past time for lsu to go somewhere new.
Posted on 12/3/13 at 5:38 pm to Boh
quote:even so, the rose bowl still could have picked lsu as an at large to play usc but chose mich instead even though that was their 3rd trip to l.a. in 4 years. completely stupid and the game was just another routine rose bowl. lsu fans were very, very excited and the rose bowl could have had a historic game with lsu's first trip to l.a. plus the '03 rivalry backstory.
If USC would have beaten UCLA, they would have faced Ohio State in the championship and LSU could've played Michigan in the Rose Bowl

Here's the kicker: If LSU goes to the Outback, theres a very high likelihood they will play…Wisconsin.
that won't happen

so about 80% chance we're in the Outback
Maybe. I know the Rant loves some Cotton Bowl, but I've been meh on that for a while.

I've read Iowa in the Outback and Wisky in the Cap One if Ohio St wins and goes to championship.
MSU to the Rose

i like the possible outback bowl

playing iowa or minnesota in a bowl Texas,Baylor,Okie State, or Oklahoma would be a much better game to watch.
Playing against Michigan State would be fun too.
I'd be fine with Wisconson if we didn't open with them next year.
There is no excitement in beating Iowa or Minnesota and a great deal of anger if we were to lose.
