Exactly. He shouldn't be on record saying jack shite even if that's the BOS prevailing thought.

What we know about Anderson and every other member of the BOS is that they have distinguished themselves by the level of their support, financial and otherwise, for Bobby JIndal.
These people should suffer a lifetime disqualification from making hiring and firing decisions at any level.

Good night. The party is over. It's the late 70s again. Get ready for 20 years of ups and downs. At some point an AD or Chancellor with balls will take over, get the board out of it and find a CEO type head coach. This will result in two guys having dinner with the next Spurrier at Chris's , while someone else is cuttings deal with Be Be at Ruffinos. That's the damn problem right now. We have a basketball guy as AD, instead of a football guy. We are dumb if we fire Miles as long as Alleva is AD and the board is all over the damn place.

Why would a board member make any comment of this nature? Maybe if they had found a new coach?? Maybe?

Pretty sure it's the 13-9 SEC record in the last 3 years, losing to Alabama 5x in a row, Arkansas 2x in a row, and the stubbornness when it comes to the offensive play calling, but I'm guessing you're an idiot and can't see that!

I have no problem with what he said. He speaks the truth. No doubt they have their man lined up.

I don't think we should nor will fire Miles for a 10-2 season. But if they have their man they should go for him while the iron is hot. The Chicago Cubs are a great example. No doubt whomever they think will replace Miles must be a homerun hire.

I could see Miles going for this if his health is an issue or perhaps he's just tired of the limelight. He may very well agree to receiving most of his buyout money up front in exchange for stepping aside and perhaps staying on with LSU in some admin capacity.

In any event, anyone who doesn't hope we steamroll the next 3 games are certainly not LSU fans.

TAF makes a big difference. LSU was playing for peanuts in the late 70s through late late 90s. Bob tried, but got undermined. Joe Dean was as short-sighted as they come. Emmert/TAF changed the playing field. LSU football isn't the penny-pinching shitfest it was back then. LSU has money to compete with every program except a handful.

I don't know Anderson, but any member of the BOS who allows himself to be quoted on this subject is dumber than Les, and deserves to be replaced before we start looking at changes in the athletic dept.

I agree with this. If he did say this and it was intended to be made public this says a whole lot more about the board member than Les Miles.

How you conduct your business (Character, integrity, ect...) is at least as important as what it is you achieve in your business. As another poster indicated previously, I will be extremely disappointed if our BOS cannot conduct their affairs better than how Auburn did with Tuberville.

Joe Alleva played football in college not basketball. He is a football man.

What I object to is this: LSU officials leaking this kind of info out as in the stuff in the Rabalais article BEFORE the season is over. THAT is hurtful to LSU and unprofessional. Wait til the regular season is over to go public with that crap.

The point is not whether Miles should stay or go. The point is the idiocy of Anderson's running his mouth. Support Miles or not, he has given a lot to the LSU program and has represented it honorably and faithfully. To pull the rug out from under him the day before a game is lower than low. And to hint that the decision is already made is gross disrespect for the man.

One would hope the decision makers aren't as dumb as the average ranter but reading the quote in the OP makes me wonder...

Just curious. How many people on this board complained when Miles was hired due to his resume? Add up all of the coaches in college football that have the same record that Miles had pre LSU and that's how many applicants you have going by the rationale on this board. The man had done nothing prior to LSU. And if your paying a coach four to five million dollars a year he couldn't care less why the former coach was fired. All he is worried about is proving he's better and getting paid.

I never agree with you, but this is well stated and truth IMO.

You don't go on record as a BOS member with 3 games left. Just keep it to yourself, whatever it is.

I must agree. What effect would anyone think that such a public comment would have on the team's performance. Miles must be in very deep kimchi. I hope that is does not backfire. There is no need to behave meanly toward the man. He just needs to go. That's it.

This just smells of bad politics and morals. First u run off one of the absolute best DC's and let him go to a west rival? Starting to make sense now.
Maybe chavis spotted this snake and got the hell out of here. I guess they weren't counting on a 7-0 start. And feel pressure to pounce now. WOW!
Then u leak out with 2 huge Games pending one of which against school mentioned above? Not a GG fan but he had to report it. No strong comment from Alleva supporting miles after rumor? There has to be some truth here and it is flat out pitiful. Like or hate miles he deserves better than this. What if you gave 11 years to a job and had people inside your own organization secretly comspiring your departure. Especially when you've completely blown away most of the original expectations and are one of the very best coaches te university has ever had in any sport. Oklahoma was blown out by Strong/Texas on a neutral field. not Saban/kiffen/smartAlabama on road. Miles has an absolute stud of a team returning and a top recruiting class lined up and deserves to go out with fournette. I love my tigers but I've hated saban for far less than this if true. Miles is an LSU man , he's one of us. Whether, u approve of his coaching or not we shouldn't condone or try to justify this type of behavior.

Fight4LSU said it all.

Its about how we lost those two games . . .

But its even more about how we won 6 out of the 7 other games. The exception being the Auburn win - that was a dominant win.
