and it's not even close. Projecting to finish with a losing record or at best 6-6 w an entirely new cast of skilled position characters to possibly in playoff hunt. Give the Tigers and our head coach some props IF we can somehow beat the mighty Aggies at Kyle Field on Sat. night. Can't wait for the game! Geaux Tigers!!!!!

He would deserve it, although Saban deserves it even more.

Coach O has done the more impressive job than Saban, a monkey could take bamas talent combined with ultra favorable scheduling and go undefeated.

If coach of the year is defined as exceeding expectations then the award goes to O easily. I truly don't believe that should be the criteria but I won't quibble over it if he wins.

I’m surprised you asked. He has put together the consensus number 1 team in the nation, a team that many are saying is the best college football team of all time.

I guess you take the position that coach of the year should go to one who exceeds expectations the most. So, not the best coach, but the one who is the most improved over what we thought he would be. Two different ways of looking at it.

Besides being false, this ignores the fact that assembling talent is part of the job of the head coach. Erin go bragh said it well, if it’s about exceeding expectations it’s Orgeron’s in a walk. If it’s who did the best it’s Saban’s just as clearly.

LSU needs to defeat Texas A&M first before we talk about accolades. Texas A&M, Jimbo Fisher, in Kyle Field? Daunting task my friend. LSU had better bring their "AAA" game and NO dropped passes. No wiggle room here.

You mean just like what was said when Les supporters said he wins 10 games a season. Well clearly they were right. Anybody can win 10 games a season at LSU. Yet when Les did it we wanted him fired for not fielding a competent offense and rightfully so. But now O does the same thing and we pumping him for coach of the year. Stupid. And don't give me the oh we didn't have talent this year crap. This team has equal talent as just about every recent LSU teams except at running back but even there it's not like Brossette and CEH are just scrubs. The bottom line is LSU needs new offensive coaches. They need a proven offensive coordinator to come in here install his system without O interfering. Because with this offense it's gonna be the same ole shite as it was under Miles. We will win lots of games with defense and mediocre offense. But we won't compete with the elite teams with this offense.

LSU should definitely increase his buyout. Some juggernaut like Purdue might come calling.
